Product Description

Product Description

AT-LP120-USB professional stereo turntable features a high-torque direct-drive motor for quick start-ups and a USB output that connects directly to your computer. A selectable internal stereo phono pre-amplifier allows the turntable to plug directly to components with no dedicated turntable input.

From the Manufacturer

Audio-Technica's AT-LP120-USB direct-drive, high-torque professional turntable is perfect for DJs and other music enthusiasts, especially in an era that many would call "postvinyl," when it's no longer the norm for audio/video receivers or even integrated amplifiers to offer a dedicated phono input.

Audio Technica ATLP120
Connect the Audio Technica ATLP120 to your computer to digitize your old LPs (laptop not included; see larger image).

It also includes a selectable internal stereo phono preamplifier and a USB output that connects directly to your computer--perfect for digitizing your old LPs to high-quality MP3 or FLAC files for playback from your computer. USB cable and adapter cables are included, along with Mac- and PC-compatible Audacity software to digitize your LPs.

The AT-LP120's S-shaped tone arm assembly comes with an adjustable counterweight, an antiskate adjustment, a tone-arm height adjustment and lock, a tone-arm lift with hydraulic action and lift lever, and a tone-arm rest with a locking mechanism to keep the arm stable during transport.

The turntable uses a DC servo motor to maintain accurate rotational speed at either 33-1/3 45, or 78 rpm, governed by a selectable, high-accuracy quartz-controlled pitch lock--all of which gives new life to 7- and 12-inch singles you may not have played for years.

What's in the Box

Unleash your inner DJ with the 'table's pitch-adjustment feature, with variations ranging from either +/-10 percent or +/-20 percent. A pop-up stylus target light and stroboscopic platter speed indicator offer visual assistance in queuing and playing your favorite tunes. Forward and reverse play options unlock countless creative doors.

The turntable comes with a cast-aluminum record platter, a slip mat, and a professional cartridge and headshell (model ATP-2) that plugs directly into the tone arm. Adjustable, antivibrational feet keep the platter level, regardless of your environs.

A start/stop button with remote start/stop input lets you integrate the player with your more sophisticated DJ tools. The player also includes a 45 rpm adapter with storage receptacle for the adapter and for a surplus or replacement headshell (sold separately).

What's in the Box

Turntable, removable hinged dust cover, slip mat, headshell/cartridge (ATP-2), AC power cord, 45 rpm adapter, USB cable; adapter cables, Audacity software (compatible with Mac and Windows), operating instructions.

I must admit , I was a bit skeptical ordering a turntable untested. What a wonderful surprise . This turntable far exceeded my expectations. This is a high quality piece of audio equipment. The performance is outstanding as well amazing features. Reverse, high quality cartridge and needle, tracking, pitch control , lighting. The unit is also very heavy and even on a not so solid floor, it does not skip or waiver. I am so pleased with this turntable .

It earned 4 stars 'cause it seems like a solid machine with great sound. Although I'm not a total audiophile freak, so i might not know exactly how it's supposed to sound, but it me it's pretty damn good. After all my life of listening to CD's and MP3's, there was an immediate emotional quality that could be heard in the music.
There were a few issues. 1: the tone arm locking lever was broke on arrival. Neither Amazon nor the supplier wanted anything to do with it, but a quick email to Audio-Technica directly and we had a new part within a week. It also came with awesome install instructions! 2: I liked the idea of a built-in pre-amp, but the output cables are hard wired to the turntable and are only 6" long. This lack of forward thinking by the engineers was compensated by the parts dept, as they included extra cables for 3 different audio connections that attached to the output, and these were more than long enough to attach to the receiver. It ended up being pretty mickey mouse, but overall got the job done. To rectify this, you'll have to go buy some aftermarket cables to make it look good.
Overall though, a nice unit fairly priced with outstanding customer service from the manufacture. I'm happy with it.

The turntable arrived in good time, and was in perfect condition. I really love the "weightiness" of this unit - it feels solid, and performs very well. Just getting into the Audacity software that came with it - so far so good! My old albums sound great with this unit and I am very pleased with it. Would definitelty recommend this unit!

It's a nice heavy quality machine, but I don't like how the audio cables are built into the machine and you're not able to replace them. This creates a point of weekness that over time could create an issue. It's better when RCA jacks are available and you can swap out cables if need be.

I started out with an LP60 record player.

Before buying this unit, I spent about two weeks researching all record players in this price range. I was disappointed to see that we are paying a few hundred $$ more compared to the USA, but this record player is well worth it.

In comparison to Denon, Sony, and even Marantz, this record player feels extremely high quality, it is a very solid built.

From the feet up, you have the feeling that this is exactly what a 'professional' record player should feel like.

Setup was straight forward, a little bit of a assembly.

A few things I really like about this record player is the Quartz match and direct drive. There are dots on the platter which are illuminated by a red ray of light, this allows you to make sure that the record player is spinning at the correct speed. When you adjust the speed, the dots spin awkwardly. In addition, there is a light to illuminate where you drop the needle. This helps you line up the needle perfectly every time!

The weight is really nice and anti-skate. I like these because some of my Ramones records on my LP60 skated around missing parts of songs. You can adjust the weight and the skate and hear every detail. Live music is even better!

The stylus that comes with this record player is great! It is about $75 to replace and is very good quality.

The only pitfall to this player is it doesnt have automatic setting, and automatic pulling of the needle. Meaning that you need to manually place the needle (then hit a button to auto-drop it), but once the record is done, it keeps spinning - I don't like this!!

Lastly, you can play records backwards!!

The A/T turntable is beautiful .

It was easy to assembly and I now play my great old LP's again.

Still need to do the download stuff but having the A/T turntable is fantastic, I love it...
