Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Audio-Technica's AT-LP120-USB direct-drive, high-torque professional turntable is perfect for DJs and other music enthusiasts, especially in an era that many would call "postvinyl," when it's no longer the norm for audio/video receivers or even integrated amplifiers to offer a dedicated phono input.

Audio Technica ATLP120
Connect the Audio Technica ATLP120 to your computer to digitize your old LPs (laptop not included; see larger image).

It also includes a selectable internal stereo phono preamplifier and a USB output that connects directly to your computer--perfect for digitizing your old LPs to high-quality MP3 or FLAC files for playback from your computer. USB cable and adapter cables are included, along with Mac- and PC-compatible Audacity software to digitize your LPs.

The AT-LP120's S-shaped tone arm assembly comes with an adjustable counterweight, an antiskate adjustment, a tone-arm height adjustment and lock, a tone-arm lift with hydraulic action and lift lever, and a tone-arm rest with a locking mechanism to keep the arm stable during transport.

The turntable uses a DC servo motor to maintain accurate rotational speed at either 33-1/3 45, or 78 rpm, governed by a selectable, high-accuracy quartz-controlled pitch lock--all of which gives new life to 7- and 12-inch singles you may not have played for years.

What's in the Box

Unleash your inner DJ with the 'table's pitch-adjustment feature, with variations ranging from either +/-10 percent or +/-20 percent. A pop-up stylus target light and stroboscopic platter speed indicator offer visual assistance in queuing and playing your favorite tunes. Forward and reverse play options unlock countless creative doors.

The turntable comes with a cast-aluminum record platter, a slip mat, and a professional cartridge and headshell (model ATP-2) that plugs directly into the tone arm. Adjustable, antivibrational feet keep the platter level, regardless of your environs.

A start/stop button with remote start/stop input lets you integrate the player with your more sophisticated DJ tools. The player also includes a 45 rpm adapter with storage receptacle for the adapter and for a surplus or replacement headshell (sold separately).

What's in the Box

Turntable, removable hinged dust cover, slip mat, headshell/cartridge (ATP-2), AC power cord, 45 rpm adapter, USB cable; adapter cables, Audacity software (compatible with Mac and Windows), operating instructions.

Product Description

AT-LP120-USB professional stereo turntable features a high-torque direct-drive motor for quick start-ups and a USB output that connects directly to your computer. A selectable internal stereo phono pre-amplifier allows the turntable to plug directly to components with no dedicated turntable input.

The turntable arrived in good time, and was in perfect condition. I really love the "weightiness" of this unit - it feels solid, and performs very well. Just getting into the Audacity software that came with it - so far so good! My old albums sound great with this unit and I am very pleased with it. Would definitelty recommend this unit!

I must admit , I was a bit skeptical ordering a turntable untested. What a wonderful surprise . This turntable far exceeded my expectations. This is a high quality piece of audio equipment. The performance is outstanding as well amazing features. Reverse, high quality cartridge and needle, tracking, pitch control , lighting. The unit is also very heavy and even on a not so solid floor, it does not skip or waiver. I am so pleased with this turntable .

This turntable performs very well. Much better than the old Sony turntable it replaced. It is wonderful to hear my old vinyl records come to life again. You should note that one item in the product description is inaccurate: The cartridge included is not an ATP-2, as advertised, but a an AT-95E. While the ATP-2 is discontinued, it was about $100 more costly than the AT-95E. The AT-95E is an adequate, but budget, cartridge.

It earned 4 stars 'cause it seems like a solid machine with great sound. Although I'm not a total audiophile freak, so i might not know exactly how it's supposed to sound, but it me it's pretty damn good. After all my life of listening to CD's and MP3's, there was an immediate emotional quality that could be heard in the music.
There were a few issues. 1: the tone arm locking lever was broke on arrival. Neither Amazon nor the supplier wanted anything to do with it, but a quick email to Audio-Technica directly and we had a new part within a week. It also came with awesome install instructions! 2: I liked the idea of a built-in pre-amp, but the output cables are hard wired to the turntable and are only 6" long. This lack of forward thinking by the engineers was compensated by the parts dept, as they included extra cables for 3 different audio connections that attached to the output, and these were more than long enough to attach to the receiver. It ended up being pretty mickey mouse, but overall got the job done. To rectify this, you'll have to go buy some aftermarket cables to make it look good.
Overall though, a nice unit fairly priced with outstanding customer service from the manufacture. I'm happy with it.

Different channels would cut in and out and the turntable was not able to play properly. CD's worked fine, but the turntable was not functioning properly.

While installing a new cartridge in in the hopes of improving turntable performance, I discovered that the four leads on the shell head were not securely attached to the factory installed cartridge. They literally fell off by themselves.

I was able to slightly crimp the four leads and snugly secure them to the new cartridge. Everything seems fine now.

However, this is the kind of thing that can really 'poison the well' for ordering from Amazon. I was prepared to send everything back and pay extra at a local retail store for a turntable.

Good turntable replacing my 30 years old Sanyo similar machine since October 2013. This one include the possibility to play my old records on a stereo system in analog mode and at the same time record them directly to a computer in digital mode. Great! Good also is the compatibility of the old and new Head shells. I can use this of my old Sanyo. Easy to operate except the small light supposed to help position the stylus at the edge of a record, or between tunes. Lowering the Shell head I cannot see the needle, because the lamp is directed elsewhere, and cannot be redirected. I use a flashlight instead.
