Like most reviews, my biggest quip has to be the stand that comes with the mic. Without being too vulgar here, it's well, just cheap, like REALLY cheap, you could probably make something better from stuff around the house. I guess that's what you get when you get a mic as good as this for a cheap price, they had to skimp out on something. Other than the stand the mic was excellent, exceeded my expectations as a under $100 mic. I was expecting something okay, since it is from Audio Technica, but instead I was pretty blown away with the value of this product. It is on par if not better than the $100+ Blue Yeti mic most people buy for first time mic buyers. I use this for youtube commentaries and live streams and works perfectly, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality mic without breaking the bank.

This is an awesome mic. Using it for recording vocals for rapping/singing. I'm currently recording on my computer desk with no acoustic treatment, yet it still sounds amazing. I have yet to wonder what it'll sound like with acoustic treatment. It picks up lows really well/bass of your voice. Recommend this mic to anyone who is starting out.

The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star review is because of the tripod attachment. The threads on the mic didn't seem to be very well defined and when I tried attaching the tripod it kept falling off. I had to use a resin to attach the tripod to the mic.

Great quality. Functions perfectly. Unfortunately, the software that controls the microphone also routes the speaker output through the headphone jack on the microphone. I have not found a way to change this so the speakers on the computer function instead.

This mic has to be 100 times better than the blue yeti which is priced 100$ more than this product. The blue yeti seemed to distort my voice. This product is absolutely crystal clear. Now for the things that make it bad. The stand that comes with it is flimsy and detects vibration super easily and that causes pulse's to the mic causing a horrible noise. Secondly the cord it comes with barely fits into the input causing the computer to detect...then disconnect until you actually force it in, it then lasts maybe 3 seconds. I actually had to purchase my own cable which just seems like nonsense. So i would definitely recommend it, i myself actually just love it. But before having great success with it you need a shock mount and a new cord.

This is an excellent microphone for your money, it also comes with a custom mount that I was able to use with my own microphone stand. The sound is clear and crisp and I had no problems with the connection. the only things that were surprising to me was how heavy the microphone was and its size, you don't get a very good idea from the pictures but I thought it would be slimmer, though neither of these were deal breakers for me in any way. highly recommendable to those needing a quality mic.

I bought this end of 2013, but didn't start using it until well into 2014 (months into the year), so this may also be a problem on my end. From the get go, you can just plug in and start using the mic and the sound is quite clear. However, I have always been having issues with the connecting cord (don't know if it is the cord of the mic's connecting port) and have to awkwardly jiggle the part that connects to the bottom of the mic until it is half in and then it will be connected and powered. Also, it could be due to this messed up connection that my recordings are half electronic static, half my actual voice... This is my second USB condenser mic after the Samson C01U which I had for years and loved- the reason I no longer have it is because I donated it and wanted to try something new. I chose this over the 2020, which I do regret a bit now, if only to save half the amount of cash. As other reviewers have said, the stand it comes with is very cheap and flimsy, I didn't even bother with it and bought a 3rd party boom mic stand (if you prefer to sit rather than stand, you can angle it down easily).

Maybe I just got the short end of the stick, but despite the sound quality being good, I haven't had a good experience with this mic overall...

From day one this microphone didn't work for me. Not sure if it was me or it but even after contacting technical support at Audio-Technica I was unable to get it working. So now I have a microphone (expensive little toy too) that sits on the shelf collecting dust and doing little else.
