I had a few different wireless outdoor speakers in the past. They were not too bad, but I have replaced them mostly because there was interference with radio and noise sometimes. This one has a much better and richer sound. Wireless connection is reliable and has zero interference. The speaker design is not so high-tech, but it is OK for my backyard.

Works well, range is understandably good, no complaints. There needs to be more hookups in the back of the sender in my opinion. I had to do some nice monkeying to get it to work seamlessly. Wished it had a recharger instead of just dc, or in addition to

Good wireless solution Sept. 10 2009

I was searching for wireless speakers for an outdoor event, and I'm certain these will do nicely. While it's true that the transmitter needs to be plugged into the music source (via a standard headphone jack that will fit all devices I would need it to) and into a wall outlet, I expected that. For a test run I plugged into my laptop sitting in the middle of the first floor then slotted 6 AA batteries into the speaker and turned it on. It automatically picked up the signal. I took a walk around the house and got about 100' away and still got good signal. I also like the feature to select L,R,or Mono on the speaker itself. Bass boost helps the sound a lot. Also, I was able to run 4 speakers from 1 transmitter. Don't know yet about interference or battery life for the speaker. I love the aesthetics of it.

Audiovox AW825 March 31 2010

I purchased this item for somewhat of an unusual use. I have and extensive collection of digital nature sounds and use the device to attract birds and other various wildlife for photographing. I feed audio signals with a simple MP3 player loaded with various bird songs. I throw a rope over a tree branch and hoist the AW825 up to a particular level then move back and begin selecting bird voices. I was surprised how the birds reacted. It is very easy to attract Downy Woodpeckers, Red bellied Woodpeckers, and even Pileated Woodpeckers. Nuthatchers go crazy trying to figure out who is in their "turf". It's a lot of fun and I have gotten great wildlife shots. I even attracted a flock of Turkey. So far I have no complaints. I have not had it exposed to any bad weather conditions but it is nice to know that a little rain may not hurt this device. The range is acceptable (I have gotten clear signals beyond 150'. I just wish the volume was a bit louder.

Love this speaker May 27 2010

I researched and read all the reviews on similar products and selected this one. We just love it. We have Direct TV and wanted a speaker to connect to our receiver so we could listen to Direct TV satellite radio and baseball games outside. This connected in minutes, auto tuned instantly, and delivered a great sound. The only drawback was that the batteries didn't last as long as suggested. We began to get static so we plugged it in and we were back in business. I'm thinking of purchasing these for other family members.

Great deal for the money but no match for some better-quality models March 3 2012
By Bob Fellacher - Published on
I bought this speaker from Walmart for streaming Pandora from my laptop outside to my terrace. I was attracted to this speaker because I didn't want to spend a lot of money and these are really cheap (only $70). Also, I found a lot of positive reviews on Amazon.

After trying them out I think that the sound quality was OK if you don't have huge expectations. You really cannot expect this one to beat a $200 speaker. Note: This month my wife and I decided that we wanted a bit higher quality sound and purchased a set of iFinity Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Speaker - Black which until now we are very happy with.

- Inexpensive: I got this speaker for $70.00

- Very simple to set up

- Sound quality OK: This speaker seriously lacks in bass but the sound quality is probably OK for many people especially if you are streaming from a low-quality source such as an FM radio.

- Not very loud: The specs state 5 Watts power. If you have some car noise or your kids running around then the background noise may drown out the sound from this speaker. You can get it to be a bit louder when you plug them into an outlet.

- Transmission very susceptible to interference: I often get crackling and popping from the speaker. I have been unable to pinpoint what is intefering with this speaker. I do not have any 900 MHz gadgets around.

- Low battery life: When using rechargeable batteries, I can use this speaker for around 1 hour per charge at medium volume. This time is too short for having an outdoor party. You can get a longer battery life if you use alkaline batteries but then you end up spending serious money on batteries.

- Only Mono Sound: This speaker only plays in mono.

If you are looking for an entry-level wireless speaker then this one may be the one for you. It offers low cost and simple setup but is no match in terms of sound quality and range for some better-quality wireless outdoor speakers.

Outstanding Sound Aug. 1 2010

We purchased these to use outside on our deck. I cannot tell you how very happy and surprised we were with the outstanding sound and clarity that these produce. They have different settings, that allow you adjust the bass, tone and volume. You can either plug them in or insert batteries.

The really nice part about these, is that the transmitter, that comes with this unit can be used with any audio media. Example, it can be used with computers, laptops, ipods, stereos, portable radios, and televisions. The only thing they need to have, is a headphone jack!
We stream from out favorite out of state radio stations, from Cable Music Channels and our ipods, all the time.

All that's needed in setup is to plug into an outlet and then into a headphone jack and Volia! You have stereo sound, outdoors.
Others reviewers commented on static, and we have not experienced any at all.

We loved them so much we have purchased them as gifts and bought another one for ourselves, so that we had a pair.
They are weatherproof and have proven to be so.

I highly recommend these to anyone!
