I'm sure Heindel is a great musician however I hated the way he interpreted the Cello suites. it was awful.

Seller was good to work with, my item was delivered on time and in great condition.

Very Nice Jan. 29 2015

Again I'm surprised no one has written a review for this great little CD. I bought this CD back in the 90's and have loved listening to it ever since. The once-popular Lautenwerck fell out of favor centuries ago as composers stopped writing music for it, and then fell into disuse and disappeared. In recent years, a man discovered instructions for building one hidden in his attic, and artisans began recreating them. I've heard someone describe it as "a harpsichord without the stops." What a great experience it is to hear Bach's lute suites played on a lute-harpsichord as originally intended, rather than transcribed for guitars and pianos that just don't do the suites justice. This is an exciting CD if you're interested in Historically Informed Performances on period instruments. Heindel is very proficient player, and his CD seems to be a greatest hits tour of Bach's lute suites, including BWV 1006a, so the listener will enjoy listening to each track. I'll admit, however, that there are some great lute-harpsichord CDs on the market now, possibly better than this one, that are available, including those by Robert HIll, that have a fuller, richer sound. If you like harpsichord at all, or are a fan of Bach's lute suites, then give this CD a go.
