One of Kim's lesser known CD's but definitely worth getting. This album has everything. It has rockin tunes like Worlds Such A Wonder and Big Smoke. It has softer ones also like Pure As Gold and Some Folks. There was one tune I heard on the radio. The song was America and ironically I was driving through the US when I heard it the first time! Instantly recognized Kim's unique sound and it's a fantastic tune. The song of the album however is the song Flames. It's a beautiful tune and the guitar solo in it I think is Kim's best guitar solo of all time. You have to hear it. It's worth the whole CD just to get Flames but of course the rest of the album is full of memorable tunes. You won't be disappointed.

My favorite Kim Mitchell solo release Jan. 26 2000
By UFO6 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I would rate this as Kim's all-around best post-Max Webster album. His others each have several outstanding songs, but this is the only one that's great from start to finish. (Actually his self-titled EP with "Tennessee Water," "Kids In Action," and "Chain Of Events" on it is his best solo work, but that's not a full-length album.) I hope he does a concert video and/or music vid compilation tape sometime - or maybe a Max concert video, for old time's sake...

Back to Basics Rock & Roll Feb. 23 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Kim returned to his simple hard-driving rock of the mid-80's with Aural Fixations (E.G. World's Such A Wonder, Dog and A Bone, and Big Smoke). There are also some great ballads (Flames and Dreamer, in particular). There are a few duds on this record (Some Folks, There's A Story, which sounds too much like Extreme's Get the Funk out). but it's still worth a listen.

So many great rock songs including one of Kims very best "Pure as Gold".
I absolutely love this CD.
I highly recommend it!
