Book Description

A core reference for mechanics, aircraft owners, and pilots, this book compiles specifications from numerous reference books and government publications into one handy, toolbox-size reference guide. Revised to reflect current specifications, mechanics are provided with all the reference information critical to maintaining their aircrafts, including the most frequently used measurements, scales, charts, and diagrams. Topics covered in detail include metal fabrication, corrosion control, nondestructive inspection, control systems, and oxygen system servicing. This new edition features information to accommodate the ever-changing industry, including a periodic table of elements, hydraulic fittings guide, color engine spark plug guide, and an aircraft tire construction section. The stay-flat spiral binding and tabbed format facilitate quick lookups and make this a convenient and safe on-the-job quick reference.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Aviation Mechanic Handbook (Spiral-bound)
Better than expected. I ordered this book because, as a former A&P mechanic, I used to have one. I lost it over the years and have regreted it since. I saw this book and had to have it, the formulas, conversions, and numerous resources available in this book are priceless. It arrived very quickly and in excellent shape at a fraction of the cost of an Aviation Based book store. I am very happy with this purchase and the experience associated with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Toolbox Reference, Aug 5 2009
By Steve Dietrich - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Aviation Mechanic Handbook (Spiral-bound)
Great toolbox, hangar or library reference for the new A&E, kit builder or owner doing permitted maintenance.

Lots of information that might get overlooked by the kit builder or owner doing maintenance. Also helps to understand the why's of professional maintenance. Lots of data sheets for stuff like bolt grade, bolt length etc.

Section on electrical systems is also great.

ASA consistently does a great job of getting useful information into the brain of the pilot, CFI or mechanic. Some of the materials are created for ASA and others like Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators are reprints of the best few government publications.

Well worth its nominal price and weight. Pocket size helps as does the reasonably sized print.
