Book Description

Jan 4 2011 House of Night Novels (Book 8)

“My love, speak to me.  Tell me everything.”  Neferet went to Kalona, kneeling before him, stroking the soft, dark wings that unfurled loosely around the immortal.

“What would you have me say?”  He didn’t meet her eyes.

“Zoey lives.” Neferet’s voice was flat, cold, lifeless.

“She does.”

“Then you owe me the subservience of your immortal soul.”  She started to walk away from him.

“Where are you going?  What will happen next?”

“It is quite simple.  I will ensure Zoey is drawn back to Oklahoma.  There, on my own terms, I will complete the task you failed.”

Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey.  Dominion over Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z.  But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there.  Being Queen would be cool, wouldn’t it?  Why should she return to Tulsa? After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same – and her relationship with her super-hot-warrior, Stark, may never be the same either…

And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim?  The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship?  Does he betray his father or his heart?

In the pulse-pounding 8th book in the bestselling House of Night series, how far will the bonds of friendship stretch and how strong are the ties that bind one girl’s heart?

Review

“…this popular series’ relatively clean nature, dearth of profanity and graphic sex, and basic premise of good vs. evil make it a fine choice for public and high school libraries.” – Library Journal

“Yes! Awakened was once more narrated by Caitlin Davies…she does an amazing job capturing everyone in the story, and leaves listeners eagerly wanting even more from the HOUSE OF NIGHT.” – Teens Read Too

“Ms. Davies delivered a very captivating reading of the eighth book in the series, infusing it with the personality of character after character as the emotional events reveal themselves to the listener. I have read the print books in this series and love to take the time to listen to the audio as it brings out more of the essence of their plight and their personalities.” – Bitten By Books

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of time Jan 26 2011
By A. Ware
Format:Hardcover
I really liked this series at the beginning. However as the books progress they get less and less eventful. Barely anything happened in this book... It was just a lot of filler and way too much slang phrases that were far too overused. I will not read anymore books from this series. It is just not worth my time.

This is, I think, number 8 out of 12 books. Would prefer to get them all at once. Hopefully the authors will hurry up and finish writing the series of 12.

I am appalled by this book, let alone the entire series. The House of Night series is targeted for teens yet each book contains unsuitable (sexual)subject matters for that age... Read more

It would be much better if each book in House of Night could be a satisfied read on its own, and not leave the reader hanging. Read more
