About the Author
Ruth Hawley - Author of Silver: The Traditional Art of Oman. For four formative years she lived in Oman. From 1971-75 and became fascinated by the silver work and crafts of the country, culminating in research, lectures, and the first published work on Omani silver in 1978. She has continued to take an interest in the silver craft of the area and beyond. She has four children and one grandchild and now lives with her husband in Wiltshire. James Peters - Author of Very Simple Arabic, Very Simple Arabic Script, Very Simple Arabia and The Arab World Handbook. An experienced Arabist, he studied Arabic at Durham University and the British Foreign Office Middle East Centre for Arab Studies in Lebanon. He has lived and worked in the Arab World as a soldier, diplomat, and businessman for over forty years.
