Book Description

Now in paperback from the creators of The Bacon Explosion, priced for the target market—a collection of mouth-watering, easy-to-follow barbecue recipes for any occasion.

Originally just two guys who loved to barbecue, Aaron Chronister and Jason Day are home cooks whose mastery of the grill has catapulted them from their backyards to international fame. The duo founded Burnt Finger BBQ—a competitive barbecue team that has garnered regional and national acclaim since its founding in 2008. But it was with the invention of the “Bacon Explosion” that one of Aaron and Jason’s culinary creations became a household name. A bacon-stuffed, bacon-wrapped smoked Italian sausage, it became an Internet sensation just months after Aaron and Jason launched their website, BBQAddicts.com. It instantly attracted attention from Fox News, Jay Leno, and Good Morning America (just to name a few), and the New York Times article about the Bacon Explosion was the second- most emailed story for the entirety of 2009. Aaron and Jason now have a cult following, but their skills at the grill are not limited to bacon alone.

In BBQ Makes Everything Better, Aaron and Jason put all of their BBQ mojo into one cookbook that will revolutionize what can be done with meat, smoke, and fire. Including a thorough discussion of equipment, methods, and techniques for cooking well beyond the “Holy Trinity of BBQ” (ribs, pork, and brisket), BBQ Makes Everything Better shows readers how to make a perfect meal even out of the “Ugly Stepchild of Barbecue”—chicken.

Lighthearted in tone and full of easy-to-follow instructions, this is the complete barbecue cookbook.

About the Author

Jason Day has spent most of his life around the bbq pit, tending fires and flipping meat. It is no surprise he went into competitive cooking and joined the Burnt Finger BBQ team, now the envy of barbecue teams across America. He is the creator of the BBQAddicts.com website and, in response to overwhelming consumer demand, he developed retail versions of his award-winning Bacon Explosion recipe and Burnt Finger BBQ sauces and rubs.

Honestly, I bought this book for the bacon explosion. That log of bacon-bbq goodness was everything I expected it to be.
However, when I started reading this book I really enjoyed the explanations it has for nearly all things bbq such as cuts of meat to name one.
This is a great present for the BBQing chef on your list.

5.0 out of 5 stars YUM!, May 6 2010

I just got this book the other day and have already tried 3 recipes. They've all been super simple to follow and have turned out some amazing food!!! The recipe for the Kansas City style sauce is awesome! I love KC BBQ and find it pretty hard to get anything comparable where I live in Chicago. But now I can add this sauce to any of the cardboard/beef jerky that passes for bbq here and all of a sudden it's good again. Now I've got to buy a smoker and start doing my own meats. This book has a great beginners smoking section that really details how to get started.

I love this book and really enjoyed the easy to read tone and writing style. If you want to hear some good stories about BBQ and learn some great recipes, it's a must buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome like unicorns and leprechauns!, May 12 2010

Bought the book for the bacon explosion (which is like manna from above) I'll admit it. But continue to use recipes out of it because they're all amazing. Just in time for summer even. Love it.
You need this book. No really! This book will make you faster, stronger, smarter and wittier than all of your friends and neighbors. Okay. That might be going a little over board. But it is guaranteed to make you lots of friends. They won't be able to resist your summer time BBQ's!
Enjoy and thank me later. Or better yet, thank the authors!

I ordered the book before it was released and was thrilled to see the barbecue and booze section (don't judge me) once it arrived. After making two of the recipes I can assure you I'll be spending my summer making the rest!
