Make great tasting lasagnas, chilies, soups, stews, ribs, pot roast and other one pot dishes with this Black and Decker Slow Cooker. Serve the whole family or entertain guests thanks to the 7 quart capacity and keep warm feature that keeps food the perfect temperature and tasting fresh. Manual controls allow for a range of cooking temperatures for various dishes. Great looking product in a stainless steel housing and easy to clean with the removable ceramic crock.

The lid is very well fitting so no problems with evaporation and you can use less liquid in your cooking. The inner ceramic cooking vessel is very substantial and holds heat exceptionally well. On High the unit heats up much faster than some older crock pots, but I haven't had any problem with burning or sticking. This was the largest cooker I could find and it is perfect for meals for our family of six with plenty of leftovers. All around a great deal and wonderful addition to the kitchen.
There are lots of good slow cooker cook books available, too, that offer everything from super simple (relying on premixed seasonings or sauces) to gourmet fare. One of my favorites is Judith Finlayson's Delicious & Dependable Slow Cooker Recipes Created for Canada's Kitchens.

The lid is not tight fitting. The insert cracked in 2 places within the first 6 months. Controls need more adjustment options.Published 11 months ago by LibrarySherry
It works okay but the glass lid doesn't fit snugly on the crockpot and the feet aren't all level so it doesn't sit flat on the counter. Read morePublished on Sept. 19 2013 by Pen Name
