I don't know why others complained about the smell, the ones I got didn't have any strong or bad smell.I'm certainly not an expert on binoculars, but these seem very good for the price.

This product has a horable odor from the moment it was opened. We aired it out for over a week and that didn't help. It had a chemical smell to it. We bought it for a child and just couldn't give it to him. Returned it and Amazon was awesome with the return. Would buy from Amazon but not this product.. Don't let the price get you, don't buy this product the smell is strong and bad.
