When Jack Sheridan sees the blue Cadillac slide off the road ahead of him in a Wyoming snowstorm, he swears with irritation and stops to help. He's not prepared for the very pregnant woman he finds inside the disabled car. Lovely Tess Danielson is on her way to her grandmother's ranch, but the icy roads and the snowstorm give her--and Jack--little choice. He takes Tess to his own ranch, reluctantly sharing his home with her until the blizzard blows over and the roads become passable once again. Jack never counted on delivering her baby, however, or on falling in love with Tess and her tiny bundle. Tess, too, hadn't counted on finding a man like Jack, but a bitter divorce has left him with emotional scars that neither he nor Tess are sure he can get past. When the storm passes and Tess takes the baby to her grandmother's home, Jack is forced to face the prospect of a life without Tess and her daughter.

The Rancher, Jack Sheridan's motto is Don't Get Involved -- So what happens??? You got it. He can't leave well enough alone.
In helping Tess Danielson give birth he found himself falling in love.
What baby doesn't grip a man's heart when he experiences the miracle of birth.
And isn't it better to acknowledge love than to live with a cold, hard heart?
