Product Description

From Amazon.com

Billed as a "must see" for every parent and caregiver, this no-nonsense tutorial teaches step by step lifesaving techniques for use on infants and on children through age 8. In a calm, professional manner, Dr. Kathryn Moyer provides basic information necessary to keep a child alive until emergency medical help arrives. Part I covers CPR and choking techniques for infants, including how to perform back blows and chest thrusts and when to call 911. Part II details similar procedures for older children, and includes a thorough explanation of the Heimlich maneuver. To reinforce the lessons, material is presented through spoken instruction, visual demonstrations on a dummy, and lastly, as text across the screen. While the concepts may be difficult to grasp after a single showing, it is an excellent tool when viewed regularly as a refresher course or in conjunction with a CPR class. (Ages 12 and older) -- Lynn Gibson

Video Details

"Baby & Child CPR" is the only CPR and Choking Relief instruction video designed for parents, grandparents, babysitters and other non-medical personnel that's based on the all new American Heart Association guidelines. It's easy to understand and easy to remember. It's explained simply, with step-by-step instructions and clear demonstrations and it's divided into two sections, birth to 1 year old and 1 to 8 year old. It's available in English and Spanish language versions and was produced under the supervision of the top medical experts in the field. It was awarded this year's 'Parents Choice Award.' Parents should know that when a child's heart stops beating, the child will experience irreversible brain damage within 6-8 minutes and will die within 8-10 minutes. Since the average ambulance response time is 10-12 minutes, a parent or caretaker must be able to act instinctively and calmly in an emergency.

EVERY PARENT NEEDS TO SEE THIS Jan 18 2002
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
We all want the best of everything for our kids, education, toys, etc. But if you don't know how to keep your child alive, none of it matters. You can't wait for paramedics. This is the one purchase every parent MUST make. It's the best demonstration of CPR I've ever seen. I didn't realize how much the guidelines have changed since my CPR course. This is very, very well done. Highly reccommended!

After my child was born I took a CPR course and learned how to save my child in an emergency. When she was two we had a little scare and I relized I had forgotten what I learned. This is a great refresher course or first time instructional program. Anyone who's ever around children should watch this program regularly. Thanks Baby & Child CPR, and keep the quality programs coming.

A Good Choice July 26 2004
By M. Johnson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:VHS Tape
I bought this video along with the CPR video because I plan on doing some day care in my home and wanted to brush up on my skills. I have taken First Aid and CPR courses in the past but had forgotten a lot of things. The video was very helpful and covered many things. I had my two daughters watch the videos with me as they plan on starting to babysit soon and they thought it was very helpful. I would recommend this video to everyone.
