Baby Jane Doe-Joyfully Recommended Jan. 7 2007
By M. Nix - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
KCPD Commissioner Shauna Cartwright didn't believe that the man who was about to be tried for the Baby Jane Doe killings was the right man. Opening the case again would require special handling to keep it from blowing up in her face and creating a public panic. After IA Officer Eli Masterson saves her life during an attempted bank robbery, she knows she's found the man that she needs to help her. However, she never expected to find herself so attracted to him or that he would desire her equally. Now she's not only faced with finding the true killer but is also in danger of becoming involved with a man who works for her.

Baby Jane Doe has it all, romance, intrigue and non-stop action. Together Shauna and Eli are a couple that quickly had me begging for them to say, "forget the rules" and admit their feelings for each other. Once they do, it's worth every minute that I spent anxiously flipping pages. Julie Miller has written a book that epitomizes the words romantic suspense. Readers who enjoy romantic suspense won't want to miss Baby Jane Doe!

Baby Jane Doe March 18 2008
By Kaitlan Crockett - Published on
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I have read all four books in Julie Miller's "The Precinct" series and enjoyed them all. "Baby Jane Doe" finally answered the question that was carried through the previous four books in the series about a baby found dead in the landfill. I liked the hero and heroine in this book. Eli Masterson is a man who loves his family, sisters Jillian and Holly, but doesn't seem to have time or the inclination to get involved in a serious relationship until he becomes involved in the "Baby Jane Doe" case at the request of Acting Commissioner Shauna Cartwright. The immediate attraction the two have for each other becomes harder and harder to ignore. They both finally admit their love for each other, but protocol gets in the way. The suspenseful ending brings everything together. This book also introduces Seth Cartwright, the Commissioner's son, who is the main character in Julie Miller's next seris "The Precinct, Vice Squad." All of Julie Miller's books are entertaining and suspenseful reading and I have greatly enjoyed this author's work.

BABY JANE DOE Jan. 29 2013

This is the 2nd book I read by Julie Miller. The storyline was really good. The beginning started off great with alot of action. I felt sad for baby Jane Doe & the killer got what they deserved. Shauna & Eli made a good team. This book was better than the 1st book I read by this author.
Do NOT waste your money July 16 2014

First of all, I'm shocked that this book has as many high reviews as it does. I was sorely disappointed & felt like I wasted my money.

I had high hopes for this book. I'm a sucker for the older woman/younger man love story, & BONUS - she's his boss! Throw in the romantic suspense & I was excited. Based on the reviews (which I'm still bitter about...yeah, I'm looking at you, Joyful), this should've been a homerun.

Let's go over the problems:

Characters - one-dimensional and stereotypical. Shauna's been oh-so-hurt by a bad marriage. Her gambling addict of an ex-husband comes to her begging for money. Eli is the tough-as-nails 'rebellious' cop. He doesn't care that nobody likes him b/c he's a 'rebel' - I lost count of how many times he called her 'Boss Lady.' Yawn.

The Writing - The author tells everything. I'm told how tired Shauna is. I'm told how much Eli stresses about his sister. Blah blah blah.

Suspense - What suspense? I figured out who 'Yours Truly' was by chapter 3.

The best part of this book was Sadie the dog & even she couldn't save it.
An unusual story with a unique style July 15 2014

I knew I had to read his novel after first few pages and glad I did. Miller really knows how to tease a guy and still keep him interested turning the pages until the climax. It was not what I expected which is a plus because she takes you places most people never go and makes you like it. Her writing style is superb!
