Book Description

July 12 1987
I'm Darcy Stevens. A baby-sitter for the Foster children. Now, I've taken care of bratty kids before, but never three all at once. These kids are really something. I was reading to the two girls and Jeremy snuck into the den to call his Uncle Rick who lives in Hawaii! Later the baby covered herself with her mother's expensive makeup!

But that's not the half of it. After I interviewed for the job, my brother drove me home and I saw a black car following us. Then on my first day, this stranger came to the door and said he was from the gas company and had to get in for an emergency. I asked to see his ID and instead of showing me, he just left.

I could never have predicted what would happen next....

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for a baby-sitter Jan. 19 2001
Format:Mass Market Paperback
From the moment that Darcy set her eyes on the three foster kids, she knew that baby-sitting would not be a "fun" job. Even though the pay was twice her rate, was only for a few hours a day, and Darcy was an experienced baby-sitter, she didn't count on the mysterious things that started happening at the children's house after she took the job. She did everything a good baby-sitter was supposed to do. She didn't let the stranger saying he was from the gas company into the house, and she called the police when the house alarm went off in the middle of the afternoon. All of a sudden, a strange thing happens, and now it is up to Darcy to rescue the foster kids and herself from three dangerous kidnappers.
This book is full of suspense. That's why it's interesting to read. Once you start reading you can't stop. You just keep on turning the pages. Will Darcy be able to save herself and the kids? If you want to find out, read the book and get caught up in the great adventure with Darcy and the three kids.

I liked this book because everytime you turn around something exciting happens! The characters are fit for the book.I liked the main character, Darcy, because in the end she is very brave. This book has exciting, mischievious characters. The baby-sitter,Darcy Stevens, gets interviewed at this "high-quality" house. She gets the job and finds out that the children are pests! The second day as she was finishing making lunch ,when all of the sudden the burgular alarm went off!The police come and search, but there's no one around. The police leave and a few minutes later... If you want to know what happens you'll have to read on!So hurry up! It's to exciting to wait!

Babysitting is a Dangerous Job is an awesome book. The title explains alot about the book. Darcy Stevens is the main character. She is a normal teenager looking for a summer job. She finds one, but it is worse than she thought it would be. The job is baby sitting three, bratty little kids in a large house. She is in big trouble!! Babysitters can relate to this story very well. If they have ever had to babysit bratty kids. At the end of the story Darcy learns a very valuable lesson.....

5.0 out of 5 stars This book stays with you Dec 7 2000
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I read this book over 13 years ago, and it remains one of my all time favorites. When I go through my boxes of books and find it I have to smile b/c I remember how great it was and how I was up until 3am on a school night reading it. Now I'm twenty-five and tempted to go through the boxes just to read it again. Willo Davis Roberts should be commended for writing books that people want to read thirteen years after they already read it many many times.
