4.0 out of 5 stars Great Recipes more gourmet than light weight, Feb 20 2012

This review is from: Backpacker magazine's Trailside Recipes: Simple and Tasty Backcountry Fare (Paperback)
There are some great recipes in this book but there is a dependence on fresh items and pouched meats. Thus the book is best suited for weekend or extended weekend trips. It would also be well suited for kayaking adventures. But do not expect a lot of recipes to create your own dehydrated foods.
