A most excellent addition to any children's CD collection!
If your children love the Backyardigans TV show then they will really enjoy this compilation of tunes. It features a good variety of music styles- reggae, jazz, big band,hip-hop,and Carribean and Latin rhythym.
Our two daughters(3&7 yrs.)like to sing and dance along with the music. Mum and Dad have also been known to do this as it is very difficult sit still while this CD is playing!
I highly recommend the Backyardigans CD for any young family.

Bought this CD for my kids (aged 2 and 4) to listen in the vehicle during a long drive. The TV show is cute and the kids loved the music - catchy and easy to sing along. Actually bought two Backyardigan CDs and both were great at the time. Probably wouldn't buy another (kids are growing out of the show and the music has changed - gone are the cute little songs and they now have these longer, more complicated verses).

The kids love it. This CD is very enjoyable to listen to, and not annoying like most music geared to children. It is perfect for long road trips as it is stimulating enough to keep the kids quiet until they fall asleep, unlike DVD's which they tend to stay awake for.

We Love This CD! Sept. 27 2005
By Janet Boyer - Published on
Format: Audio CD
My son really enjoys the Backyardigans on Nick Jr. and I have to say, I do too!

These hilarious characters, who imagine amusing adventures while in the back yard, are fun to watch--breaking out in song at a moment's notice! What's especially great is that the music of The Backyardigans features different music genres such as disco, 20's-style jazz, mambo, swing, 60's-style rock, and much more!

We bought this CD for my son several weeks ago and he LOVES it! In additon to being child-friendly, though, it's PARENT friendly. Unlike other repetitive, irritating, mind-numbing kid CD's, these songs are fresh, well-sung, and downright hilarious. We put this CD among the selections in our car's CD changer, and I think my husband and I enjoy it as much as my son! We found ourselves snickering and even laughing out loud to the witty and whimsical songs on this CD.

Featuring 19 upbeat songs--none of which sound the same--this CD has a run-time of 36:09.

Highly recommended!

Not as good as the first two CDs, but well worth the price. Jan. 23 2008

The release of any Backyardigans CD is a joyous event in my house. And finally, finally we get some songs from the Race Around The World episode. Unfortunately we don't get the extended version of Go Go Go, but at least a couple of songs that were notably absent from the first two CDs are included here. But there are still some songs excluded from this offering that would've improved it greatly. Huka Pele from The Legend of the Volcano Sisters, Steer Baby Steer from Cops and Robots, and Astronauts Never Give Up from Mission to Mars. Granted, this is my personal opinion, but it is a shame that these three songs are unavailable on CD. Instead this CD gives us a glut of songs from The Tale of the Mighty Knights, which are good, but are still inferior to the three songs mentioned above. Hopefully that will be corrected on a future release. And hopefully they won't take so long to get around to the next CD. My kids are almost 5 and 2 years old, It won't be all that long before they have outgrown the Backyardigans and I'll be forced to buy subsequent CDs strictly for myself.

So 4 out of 5 stars from me. A better song selection and this would've been another 5-star selection.

Lots of fun Nov. 10 2007

I bought this CD as a gift for my daughter and, much to my delight, it has turned out to be a treat for the whole family. I think this show does much to encourage a love of music in children and to expose them to the seemingly infinite variety of musical styles that exist in the world. The lyrics are cute and fun and I find myself singing along with my daughter. In fact, I sometimes find these songs running through my head while I'm at work. If I ever met the creator of this show, I would thank her profusely for dreaming up something so gentle and sweet and fun for children that is also entertaining for parents.

Blocked Music Aug. 31 2009

I just got this CD and I have two (2) more on order for installing on a Sandisk Shaker MP3 Player for my 2-year old boy so he can listen to his favorite music.

It plays in the car's CD player fine; plays in the home theater fine. I went to burn the tracks to my PC, clicked "Play Music" on the interface that loaded up, Windows Media Player launched, but no files were visible.

I navigated to the CD with Windows Explorer and found that it contains a large executable (about 300 MB), but no soundtracks.

Obviously, the music is embedded to prevent others from copying it.

I have this and two more of these Backyardigans CDs on order specifically for loading the files onto the Shaker (that is also on order). How do I get the music off of the CD and onto the Shaker? I'm not giving my 2-year old access to my car or our home theater!

I gave this 2 Stars because (that I've been able to see) no one else has mentioned this. Had *someone* mentioned this, I would have instead just purchased the downloads directly from Amazon.

Hopefully, with 2 Stars, it will jump out and others will know to purchase the downloads from Amazon instead of thinking they can just get the CD for about the same price, rip the music to their computer, and still have a backup CD.

Totally COOL! Nov. 10 2005
A Kid's Review - Published on

Awesome! Even though this cool show is on the same channel as (gulp) Dora the Explorer, there's nothing stupid

about it. It features Uniqua, Tasha, Pablo, Tyrone, and Austin ( who is not on the show very often ) who are neighbors

that use their imagination. This CD features songs such as Yeti Stomp, Into The Thick Of It, and much more.

Nothing on it is about shapes and numbers, making it fun for all ages. You'll find yourself humming to these songs locked

up in a room, maybe even in front of people. I'm a big Backyardigans fan. So far, there is two videos about The Backyardigans.

The show is NOT like...

Blue's Clues

.... so it's perfectly fine to watch. Don't feel bad if you're

a fan of The Backyardigans.

I hope you'll buy this CD! It's a feast for your ears.
