Product Description

Nothing is more satisfying than a homemade, fresh-from-the-oven lasagna. In a conventional pan, after a few servings are removed, the layers slump and the noodles slide, and what's left in the pan starts to look a lot less appetizing. This innovative lasagna pan solves this problem with its clever design. The pan's inner walls keep the noodles and layers neatly stacked, regardless of how many portions are removed, so your last serving always looks as good as the first. Lasagna will also bake consistently because more heat is circulated to the pan's centre, where food typically takes longer to bake. The single-chamber design allows sauces to flow evenly, and standard noodles are a perfect fit. The hefty cast aluminum construction adds durability and oversized handles make the pan easy to lift and move. A custom spatula is included.
Oven safe to 500°F/270C; broiler safe (for browning).
Capacity: 17 cups/4 litres
Dimensions: 12œ"L × 11œ"W × 2œ"D
Materials: Hard-anodized cast aluminum with a premium-grade non-stick coating
Care: Hand washing recommended

This is a great cooking device. It cuts the preparation time not only because you use oven ready lasagna (no need to boil) but the channels (and the firm noodles) keep the noodles in place as you layer the sauce. I have two of them so that I can prepare lasagna for both my vegetarian and meat loving guests. Also, it is Teflon and after letting it soak for about twenty minutes clean up time is minimal. I should mention, also, that the channel walls encourage even cooking because heat is distributed evenly.

Bakers Edge does it again and lasagna is just the beginning! Sept. 4 2009

I was already familiar with Bakers Edge because of their wonderful Nonstick Edge Brownie Pan I purchased last year, so I was anxious to try out the Simple Lasagna Pan. In fact it was less than 6 hours from delivery from Amazon to delicious lasagna being served on my dinner table.

My first step was to read the care & use guide, along with the recipes that were listed. Although I have my own recipe for lasagna, I knew that I might have to adjust it based on this pan. The only thing that surprised me was the use of uncooked noodles. I have used Barilla's "No-Bake" noodles before, but this required regular uncooked noodles. Otherwise the recipe suggestions were very close to my own.

After I had my sauce ready, I began assembling my lasagna. The pan allows for 3 layers of noodles, sauce and whichever cheeses you use. Once assembled it says to cover it with foil that has been sprayed down with non-stick spray to prevent the cheese from sticking. Then you are to bake it at 375° for 55 minutes covered, 10-15 uncovered and then let it cool for 10-15 minutes.

Now for the most important part, the results! The lasagna was great, but that was expected. For me what this pan is about is the ease of making it, presentation and clean up. Not surprisingly it aced all three! Putting it together took half the time, with the included spatula it was easy to remove and looked beautiful and clean up was fast - NO Soaking or Scrubbing! I did add several pictures in the customer images so that you can see the pan in action.

Now that I'm done making lasagna, I keep thinking about the endless possibilities with this pan: Meatloaf, Baked Mac & Cheese, Deep Dish Cheesecake Bars, the list goes on. My daughter also just made the suggestion that I can do her vegetarian lasagna (which she prefers) in one channel of the pan and make regular in the other three - what a great and idea! I can honestly say this pan is worth every penny.

How did KitchenAid and All-Clad miss the boat? Sept. 4 2009
By J. Wilson - Published on Amazon.com
I bought this company's first product (the Edge Brownie Pan) about a year ago. We absolutely love it (I use it weekly), but the 9" x 12" x 2" size sort of limits its usefulness to brownies, bar cookies, rice krispy treats, and similar desserts. When I discovered this new pan in a gourmet catalog a few weeks ago, I bought it entirely on impulse -- simply because it's much larger in size. After a week of use, I'm a little surprised that Baker's Edge didn't introduce THIS pan first. The zig-zag design is so perfectly suited to lasagna, it makes you wonder why the biggest brands in bakeware continue to make plain rectangular pans. Creamette and Barilla box noodles fit like a glove, and the pan's partitions keep those slithery layers and noodles together when you're plating. (Genius.) It's a heavy pan, so get a good grip on it when cleaning. And be sure to use the spatula that comes with it... the shape is a little odd-looking, but once you use it the unconventional design makes perfect sense. Overall, I've been thrilled with this pan. It performs at least as well as advertised, and significantly better than any other lasagna pan in my kitchen.

Where has this pan been all my life?? Dec 7 2009
By Elizabeth Nash - Published on Amazon.com
My husband and kids are ravenous lasagna eaters, and they insist that I make it with a lot of sauce. If you've ever made it the same way, you surely know that saucy lasagnas are horribly messy and almost impossible to serve without falling completely apart. With no real way to solve the problem, I've always served my lasgnas with two utensils: a wide spatula, and a big serving spoon to scoop up what didn't survive the precarious journey from baking dish to dinner plate. I bought this pan entirely out of curiosity (desperation?), and I'm blown away by how well it works. The inside walls keep all of those soupy layers neatly in place, and they do a fantastic job of cooking the middle more evenly. It's tough to get the first serving out, but I guess the same is true for any other pan. I do have a fondness for the polish and shine of those stainless steel bakers from All-Clad (which, gulp, cost twice as much), but the unique design of this pan is pure genius, and it does feel substantial. I also love (love, love, love) the nonstick coating. Without it, this pan would probably be a beast to clean. We've enjoyed using this pan for the past three months, and I suspect we'll continue to use it for many more years.

Best lasagna pan ever Dec 27 2010

What a fantastic lasagna baking pan! I did not have any rows of lasagna falling over and become "mush." It is very easy to cut and remove portion sizes with special black spatula provided w/product. I especially liked the cast aluminum construction and premium non stick coating for easy cleanup. The interior sidewalls of pan circulate heat evenly to every serving.
Best tip I learned from Ina Garten -- use hottest tap water and place lasagna noodles in 9X13 pan with hot tap water, leaving them for 20 minutes. Take them out, wipe the water off and use in lasagna pan. They will not be "soppy." Try Joy Behar's lasagana recipe -- excellent!

Best Lasagna Ever Sept. 14 2009
By Gooo-oood Clark - Published on Amazon.com
I thought I had my Lasagna recipe perfected just the way I like it. It couldn't be any better. Then while visiting my in-laws I saw this odd looking pan and asked what it was for. When they said lasagna pan I thought, they make a pan just for lasagna. My in-laws swore by the pan and explained its concept for creating an evenly cooked lasagna throughout and not falling apart in the middle. So I borrowed the pan and built my personal masterpiece of lasagna heaven. Man were they right. My lasagna tasted the same from the first bite to the last. The middle was cooked to the same perfection as the outer edges because the whole thing had edges. Let's face it, the edges is the best part of the lasagna. I now have my own Lasagna pan along with the Brownie Pan these guys sell as well. Both pans are great. Can't believe no one thought of this concept sooner.
