    Just got this book because I saw a review in a newspaper. I've only tried one recipe so far (its Feb.) but it was fabulous. The Planked Pork Roast with Whisky Apricot Glaze just made my guest swoon!! I love it, and to be honest, I've never been a fan of apricots. Good pictures, easy to understand recipes and recipes that anyone can make at home. Not too many exotic ingredients and the recipes require a little more effort than grilling burgers. Results were well worth the little extra effort put in.

    This my BBQ bible and it has earned a spot of my top five cookbooks. I've cooked about half the recipes in the book and have been thrilled with the results. Clearly written with many photographs it has brought my grilling and smoking up a notch.

    Try the Asian Chicken Burger from the book - it is fave at our house. Other include the Championship Ribs, Asian Noodle Salad, Salmon Burger and of course, the Steak marinade.

    I recommend this to all my friends.

    I found this book accidentally at one of the Borders "going out of business" sales. I grabbed it because it had some interesting looking recipes and ideas and the pictures in it were really nice. Little did I know that it was going to become my new "secret weapon." I have a lot of other BBQ and grilling cookbooks. I've got "the other guy's" cookbooks as well and have never been that impressed with his recipes. "The other guy's" books are certainly nice enough and I wouldn't suggest that his ideas are no good but I've always been underwhelmed by the flavor profiles I end up with when following his recipes. My palate is definitely different than his. Not the case Shewchuk's book. This guy grabs you by the tongue and doesn't let go. Everything I've tried out of this book has been full of flavor (but well balanced) and delicious. My guests agree, as well. The range of ideas in this book is great as well. Looking for a simple salad with some grilled veggies and a "doctored mayo" dressing? It's in there. Want to get super-crazy and make competition style ribs with a list of ingredients which includes fruit-bomb zins and may take you the better part of your Sunday? That's in there, too. Shewchuk's writing style is casual, readable and concise which makes this book easy to use and fun to read. If you can only get one "BBQ" book as your "Bible" I'd highly recommend this one.

    Just what I had expected from a BBQ book.
    He gets down to the facts and that is what I wanted. Not a lot of irreleveant material.
    I have a lot of BBQ books but this one definately is a keeper.
    I do recomend it as a first buy befor getting any other books.
