With animated performances to the legendary Giselle and Swan Lake ballets, it’s a wonderful journey where if you dance with your heart, dreams come true!
My daughter enjoyed this Barbie movie, she's 7 and NOT a ballerina. However, the moral of the story, as one reviewer wanted to reference, is to dance to the beat of your own drum. It's just a Barbie movie, it's entertainment and it's watchable.
It's a nice, cute story that introduces a few classical ballets to young girls; however the moral of the story is awful.
It teaches young girls that following the music in your heart while dancing is more important than dancing it the way the choreographer designed the dance! What??? Maybe when the dancer is older and doing choreography, but not for kids that are the target age for this movie. Any dancer in any dance class or dance company must perform as the choreography is designed and not all willy-nilly.
This movie is all about ballet. My grand daughters aged 8 and 10 actually asked me to turn it off. Not very entertaining. The other Barbie movies in the series had a young target group but this one missed the mark. Unless you are an adult ballet enthusiast don't bother adding this one to your Barbie collection.
