Book Description
About 200 of Rupp's best quotes, spanning nearly a half-century, are included here, as are remembrances of him by fellow coaches, former players, and other acquaintances.
From the Author
I have tried to capture the essence of Adolph Rupp, through his own words and the words of others. Rupp was not only an excellent basketball coach but a fascinating person as well. It is my hope that readers will gain a better understanding of him.
From the Inside Flap
For more than forty years Adolph Rupp, "the Baron," personified Kentucky basketball as head coach of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Rupp's teams captured four NCAA titles, one NIT title, and twenty-seven SEC championships and, incredibly, won more than 82 percent of their games. By the time Rupp retired in 1972, he had amassed 876 career victories, a distinction he held for almost a quarter-century.
