This book is a given, a must for every baseball enthusiast or fantasy player. It is packed with fact based opinion that unlike other books does not get repetitive. The size and value are amazing and have been commented on by the check out person at Chapters the year I bought it there. (I am usually in Florida when this comes out which is why I sometimes don't use Amazon). The opinions are accurate and often add an amusing touch. Statistics are also provided for both the previous year, several years before and career numbers. All pros and significant prospects are all reviewed, very rarely will I be aware of a player that they don't list in the book. If you have never used this book, you should be!

Despite writer turnover and despite the move to PitchF/X and HitterF/X from other websites, BP still turns out a very useful, insightful annual every year. The move away from the essays is puzzling, as is the inclusion of a free month's subscription to the website (you have to remember to log in to stop it from renewing automatically--as opposed to just giving out a limited use password or the like). The prospect list and information is top of the line, the history and context for each team is rich, and the realistic assessment of teams and players is so very welcome (rather than the cheerleading from mainstream media).
