You can learn the basics of MIDI to run a setup of MIDI devices in no time or for whatever application(s) you wish to use MIDI. This book also covers some basics of sequencing and synthesis that you can apply to your music. You simply cannot miss out on this great bargain.

For a total MIDI beginner, this is a very good intro. I am an old ex pro musician who hasn't done anything musical for over 20 years and decided to try my hand at doing something on my iMac. This little book describes the terminology, software, hardware, etc., requirements that a beginner should be expected to know about. It allowed me to take my next step without feeling totally ignorant. Very basic, just like the title says.

I bought this book because I was keen to connect my PC to my keyboard but had no idea what I would need in the way of hardware or software. The book covers all the areas that you need to know about to get going in the MIDI world. The information is presented in a way that is neither too simplistic to be useful nor too complex to be off-putting. The style of writing made it possible to read the book from beginning to end and not just to use it as a reference, although the well defined chapters and comprehensive index make it very easy to find particular parts again.
This book has met my needs 100%.

This book is barely bigger than your thumb. It doesn't even look like the picture on Amazon's page. If you are over 30 buy a microscope - you'll need it to try to read it. Read more
