Arkham Asylum was great, this one is even better. You find in it all the awesome stuff that have made Arkham Asylum one of the greatest games. Story is faithful to the original comics and the game has a good presentation/interface... Voice actors are amazing (In fact, they're the real actors from Batman in the 90's), dialogues are outstanding, combat scenes are every bit as good as the ones in Arkham Asylum (And let me tell you that those are among the best out there). All in all, this is a game worth every penny you spend on it.Obviously, try to play to Arkham Asylum before Arkham City! Now with the graphics. They are clean and beautiful (I play in 1080p, and I am amazed to say the least). PhysX, if you have enough horsepower and appropriate hardware, adds great effects. nVidia's AA makes it very easy for the GPU to achieve high AA grades with little performance penalties. HOWEVER, if you're geared with DX-11 capable hardware, even if it is a beast, avoid the DX-11 features of the game. Those are poorly embedded and not optimized at all (It makes running Crysis in ultra DX-11 with high-res textures a 'piece of cake', and I am being serious). Framerate is literally divided by two (from 58 fps avg to 30 fps on a GTX 570 with a 64-bit, i7 2600K, 12GB-1600MHz RAM system). Even with the update, DX-11 is just a mess in this game (x64 systems are no exception). We're waiting for an update. However, in DX-9, the game is still very beautiful, at maximum framerate (Even though there /are/ some framerate problems now and then, mainly some very located drops ; nothing too dramatic). In a nutshell, this is one of the best games out there (Graphics issues put apart, I'm confident we will have an update soon). Buy it, you won't regret it, I promise. A great Christmas gift!

If you want to know how great the game should be, by all means please check the reviews for the console versions of this game. Sadly, the PC version was not properly tested. And by that I mean that the developers did not bother inserting this game into a computer to see how it would actually play. It bugs instantaneously. At first, it's just a (major) lack of synch between the words being spoken and the lip movements in the initial cut-scene, but soon after (even before Bruce puts on the outfit), the game glitches and makes you unable to proceed. This is unacceptable. If you are tech savy, there is a way of getting out of this by working with the settings but this messes with other visuals and eventually you will still be unable to continue since the game will not account for progress made. I had some fun till I got stuck again, but the fact that I cant complete this game and that it is defective in essence is a major bummer. I am returning this item and give it another chance once the real fixed version comes out. Till then, I don't recommend anyone to buy this version of the game.
