Battlefield 1942 runs very well on my Macbook Pro. I haven't had any issues thus far. Even at the highest settings it runs smoothly. I haven't applied any patches or updates to it for the main game.

While the game is indeed clunky in some aspects of gameplay it isn't all that bad. The AI could be improved upon but given the age of the game you will have to make do. If you want a better experience with the game there are plenty of mods (which are free) for this game that are made to run on Mac. These mods typically have better ai and more maps for you to play on. Finding the mods can be a bit difficult.

I haven't had the opportunity to play multiplayer, but I am certain that there are still some people who you can face. Plus it does allow cross platforming in multiplayer, so you won't be fighting just Mac users.

This game is just Amazing! It describes really well the world war two and is really enjoyable to play with!
