Product Description

She dropped from the tree into his arms like a ripe peach, a fiery russet-haired beauty he wanted to devour.  But mountain man Sam Taggart came to the Recht Montana homestead to hire a housekeeper, not find a wife.  He was out to make his fortune and needed an heiress by his side, a first-rate hostess with a heart of pure ice.  Emma Recht was definitely not what he had in mind--a spirited backwoods beauty with a head for business and passion to burn...

He was tall, dark, and dangerous, the handsomest man she'd ever seen.  Emma Recht had all she could do to keep from melting in his arms.  Sam said she wasn't his kind of woman--but his burning eyes put the lie to his lips. Recklessly she agreed to follow him into the wilderness, certain she was everything he ever needed after a night of wild abandon in the darkened room of a bordello...when he thought she was someone else...

Ingram

Having recently returned to Montana, Sam Taggart is looking for a wife of breeding to enhance his social position, but a blazing mutual attraction to Emma Recht, a smart and spirited backwoods beauty, ignites a romance as wild as the great Northwest. Original."

5.0 out of 5 stars Emma and Sam are Wonderful!, Jun 8 2000
By
Shannon (Baytown, Texas United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Be Mine (Paperback)
Emma is the oldest of two daughters and has to marry first. The only problem is that she is to wed big dumb Gilbert. Sam comes back to his fathers house to confront him for the hell he put Sam thru after avenging the murder of his wife and Sams mother. Sam hires Emma to take care of things and run the household after he feels bad for his father and sees exactly what kind of situation he is in. His health and his farm are going down the drain. Emma is a ship it up and shape it out kinda gal and thoroughly revamps the house and steals Sam's heart. You'll love the action between Sam and Emma and how they come together as business partners and soul mates. Be sure to catch the part where Emma gives herself to Sam in the "marriage act" even though Sam, coming into the dark room, thinks she is a prostitute at a brothel. It will make you shimmy and shake with laughter and compassion for the both of them. A wonderful book that I really fell in love with.

This was a really enjoyable book. Emma's sweetness and naiveté made me laugh. It was sweet, not corny. There was a lot that I liked in this book.
