3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay I guess Aug. 26 2013

I found this book to be interesting for the first couple of chapters but after that it became very dry. By chapter 3 I'm pretty sure the author had told us 1 million times that the Beach Boys survived when they were not intended to. In short I found the later chapters to be dry and redundant.
5.0 out of 5 stars G A De Forest Aug. 15 2013

This book is a masterpiece. Encyclopedic in nature making it an excellent reference source other than it not having an index.
Gary's understanding of the nuances of the music of the time makes it a ' must have ' read regardless of the people involved.
Most certainly would have been a ' best seller ' had it had photos to illustrate the story !

"This book is a fierce and proud witness... with excellent remarks, detailed descriptions and perfect comments. In his book Gary De Forest wonderfully knows how to tell the life and the great achievements of these two fantastic pop bands who have changed forever our lives and history definitively." ALDO PEDRON, 'Jam' magazine, Italy
