When Hershey becomes ill with cancer, the film takes a predictably sentimental course, yet Marshall brings out the best in both actresses and catches some very fine drama. I love this movie

Bette Midler is wonderful in this movie. Barbara Hershey gives an outstanding performance. I love their friendship and how it goes through the different phases, and yet at the end they are there for one another, to support one another. This movie is definitely a tear-jerker, yet a classic.

Great movie. Enjoyed every minute of it. Makes you want to watch it over and over again. What a great buy. I highly recommend it.

One of my favorite movies

I first saw this movie when I was about 11, and I loved it. I am now 25, and this is still one of my favorite movies. I didn't like the book much, but I'll never get tired of this movie.
