Feeling good is what it's all about for Bear, Tutter, Pip & Pop! Bear shows his friends how good eating, rest, and exercise can make them the "Picture Of Health," while Tutter learns that a fun visit to the doctor can give him "That Healing Feeling." And when Doc Hogg drops by for "The Big Blue House Call," he gives everyone a reason to feel good about themselves in these three stories, featuring four sing-along songs!
After tackling the potty, Bear takes on another childhood fear: the doctor. In two episodes, Bear uses his tender touch and unflappable upbeat attitude to calm his friends when Dr. Hog visits in "A Big Blue House Call." Ojo is especially queasy about the visit, fearing the Mt. Everest of doctor visits--the dreaded shot. Through song and talking about the facts, Bear lets everyone know a checkup is full of good things for you and a shot, if necessary, only hurts for a moment. In "That Healing Feeling," Bear takes Tutter to Dr. Hog's to examine the mouse's crushed tail. Learning how the doctor's tools work, including the x-ray, calms Tutter. Whether your pre-kindergartner will be at ease at the doctor's after watching this video is unknown, but "Bear" fills a void in giving younger children calming information to counter the usual cartoon doctor high jinks. This video really helped us explain to him about going to the doctor and getting x-rays. He still is not thrilled about going to the doctor but he does not get hysterical anymore. We don't have to hold him down for the doctor to look in his ears or his mouth. For the ENT he even said "ah" which surprised the doctor. He had never seen a child that small say "ah." Thank you Doc Hog for "Everybody Say Ah." The ouch song has come in handy in the ER before too.
So if your little one doesn't like the doctor get this video. The ENT said he was getting it for his waiting room.
Some things that are good for you hurt a bit, it's true.
So, just saw ow, say it now, just say ow and it's over!
I am 14 and enjoy viewing videos that tell kids that a visit to the doctor is not as bad as they think it will be. This particular one is wonderful for kids who are nervous about checkups. When Ojo is nervous about getting a shot, Bear teaches her the above song, and it was over before Ojo knew it. Buy this video for your child!!

Great DVD! My daughter loves it. Teaches kids about well and sick visits. Talks about vaccinations, in kid terms.Published on Feb. 22 2004
As always, I'm a little disappointed at the amount of song, footage, and theme reuse on the various bear videos, but my 210 month old daughter seems to love them! Read morePublished on Feb. 4 2001
This is one of my granddaughters favorite Bear videos. She love when Doc sings. She sings along with him and dances. It is wonderful to watch her. I highly recommend this video.Published on Jan. 24 2001 by Georgianna Del Corso
