This was a good movie, typical teenage drama with a little magic. The acting was far better then the twilight motion pictures and the product itself is pleasing, no scratches on the disks or missing pieces, good buy.

If you buy the movie after reading the book and expect it to be faithful to it, then you'll be disappointed greatly. Some of the best parts of the book are left out and a complete new ending is added. The characters are loosely based on the original characters at best and an important chunk of them are simply missing. The writers for this movie did a poor job and added a new ending that was predictable while contradicting the purpose of the story itself.

That being said, if you didn't see the movie, many questions are left unanswered and many storylines are wrapped up too quickly. The acting is sometimes uncomfortable for newcomers Ehrenreich and Englert, while its on point for the rest of the cast. Due to the lack of character development and background motivation, the characters are unable to fascinate you as they were suppose to.

Overall, the movie is disappointing. They had so much potential between their hands, however, the movie failed the book. I don't see a sequel in the future for Beautiful Creatures.

This film incorporates elements of "Twilight" and "To Kill a Mockingbird" to make for a confused film. Lena (Alice Englert) is the new kid in school. Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich) who is not the brightest bulb in the pack, is attracted to her, even with her attempts to brush him off. We soon find out Lena has telekinetic powers, as does her family who are not witches but castors. You can look that up on Google.

There are flashbacks to a local Civil War battle fought on Dec.21, Lena's birthday. Her 16th birthday is approaching, a time when she will become...

Lena could have been played by Kirsten Stewart with an occasional facial expression, while Ethan was an irritating goober. Dad was a creepy gentry, rounding out characters that were fairly stereotypical. The locals were so stereotypical, I almost barfed. I would wait for the DVD with the commentary if you haven't read the book.

Parental Guide: No F-bombs, sex, or nudity

Ethan Wate (Alden Ehrenreich) has dreams about a mysterious girl that may be the death of him. Then one day she turns up in school to be Lena Duchannes (Alice Englert) the latest generation of the towns founding family.

Mysterious things happen and no one is who he/she seems to be. Mostly this is a spooky story about destiny and bullying. O.K. maybe a sappy love story.

This is a fun formula movie with no real surprises. For people that like this sort of spooky love story genre you will not be disappointed. Of cores it goes without saying that it is not the book but fun in its own right.

This movie is making my top list at the moment, it's honestly a great movie. Some might compare it to Twillight and sure it has point in commun, but it's a very original story. It feels new and fresh, it's stands apart from other movies. It's a love story, it's beautiful. You will get attached to the characters. And it's fast to show that it's not one of these stories that in the end has a happy ending and they lived happely ever after, no. It feels true even when being fantastic, it has a very real sence to it. It's not all white it's not all black. It's an amazing movie and I don't know who should not see it. I'm a 18 year old man and I really like this new universe, can't wait till the other movies come out.

I liked this movie a lot, it is a southern movie in a small town in Texas and a young teen boy falls for a girl that moves to town but thing get interesting as she has powers live her family does but on her 16th birthday he is to turn in to either a good or evil witch, but the curse on the family makes all at 16 birthday turn evil. I will leave it at that. Very good movie if you have an imagination and like people with powers.
