About the Author

His collections of essays include Five Moral Pieces, Kant and the Platypus, Serendipities, Travels In Hyperreality, and How To Travel With a Salmon and Other Essays. A Professor of Semiotics at the University of Bologna, Umberto Eco lives in Italy.

A unique study of the various dimensions of beauty. I recommend this book for the general reader or art/philosophy student. Covers a vast range of viewpoints from classical to modern periods. For those who thought they understood beauty, here is an overview that will expand one's appreciation to aspects he may not have considered. Highly recommended.
