Product Description

Hard Luck, Alaska -- a town that needs women! Location: 50 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Population: 150--mostly men--but growing! Because the O'Halloran brothers, who run a bush-plane service called Midnight Sons, are heading a campaign to bring women to Hard Luck! Matt Caldwell: Charles O'Halloran's brother-in-law. An easygoing charmer who's recently moved to Hard Luck, where he's begun to renovate the O'Hallorans' old lodge. He's also begun a strategy to win back his ex-wife...starting with a Valentine card. Karen Caldwell: She's still in love with her ex-husband. Her reaction to him at his sister's wedding--and afterward--certainly proved THAT. It also left her pregnant. Now Matt wants her to marry him again, to live with him in the lodge at Hard Luck. And not JUST because of the baby!

BECAUSE OF THE BABY - Debbie Macomber
Matt Caldwell is Charles O'Halloran's brother-in-law. He's
recently made some big changes in his life -- for one, he's
renovating the families partially burned lodge, and he's
planning to run it. For another, he's determined to win back
Karen, his ex-wife. Karen, who's having his baby...

I liiked the book as I like most all of Debbit Macomber books. Sept. 29 2013

I have thoroughly enjoyed most of her books, because they are romantic without the explicit sex. I think sex is really great, but I don't want to feel like a voyeur or that I only like trashy books when I'm reading. I usually read the romantic novels, because the mysteries and suspense don't give me a peaceful night's sleep. Her stories are very interesting, and when I finish one, I can sleep like a kitty.

One good thing about this series is that you get to read the happy ending to each character's life. I like that the characters dialogue quickly helps you get involved in the emotional impact to their lives.

hope and love -- another winner by Debbie Macomber April 7 2006
By ShelleyL - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
This is the 4th book of the Midnight Son's series by Debbie Macomber. As I was reading this, I kept thinking that this story was familiar -- I came to the conclusion that I must have read it at an earlier date. That said -- it was just as good this time as it was last time. I have been reading this series in order and have enjoyed seeing how the characters have evolved and how the community is growing - not only in numbers but in care and concern for one another. To me this story illustrated hope -- hope that dreams can come true and how sometimes, although we may not know why we are on the leg of the journey we are on -- there is a destination in the end -- one that makes sense when we have all the pieces to put together.
IMMATURE CRAZY LOVE Nov. 6 2014

It was about time Matt and Karen got it together, they need to grow up before their baby arrives. Christian and Mariah may finally figure
out their problem soon. The children seem more mature than the grownups at times. It looks like the couple's are going to start growing
their families in Hard Luck. This is a very interesting series in a very hard part of the country to live in, you really need a spouse to keep
you warm at night.
