4.0 out of 5 stars Good book for teachers Feb. 21 2013
By Jessie Koenig - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
This book has been productive for a group of curious and driven teachers. We have challenged each other to work on certain areas that the survey has helped us identify. Mariano seems to know teachers well. Thanks!

I liked this book much better than the earlier companion work, The Art and Science of Teaching . . . this was a better fit for me as a classroom teacher always looking for ways to better get across content to high schoolers.

One of the most important things that teachers fail to do is reflect on their practices. This is a great tool to use as it will help guide you through the process of effective, purposeful reflection.
5.0 out of 5 stars Marzano's Book for Teachers Oct. 22 2013

Marzano provides excellent information for any teacher wanting to improve their practice and craft. Reflection is so important to the profession. What was good, what was not....and learning to let go of what was not.

4.0 out of 5 stars I've decided to NOT become a teacher July 28 2014
By Jeanne Tenorio - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
...Having said that, I think this book will be invaluable to someone who DOES want to become a teacher. I have taken the courses, listened to the people who research education and the institution that it has become. I do not have the personality for "words in little boxes". I am quoting myself. As education goes, this is an excellent book for teaching teachers how to develop personalities and strategies of skills so that everybody is on the same page. Problem is, our educational system is broken (undisputed) and if we keep teaching, and being taught, by the people who broke it, we contribute to the broken system. So, I don't get it. You don't want me to teach your children. I will tell them to rebel.
