This textbook contains some of the finest plays in the Western canon. The background notes and the analyses allow the reader to gain a deeper understanding of the play.

Has everything! April 23 2014

First things first, this book is MASSIVE and it weighs a ton.

Because it is FULL of almost every classical play you could think of, from Greek theater all the way to 19th Century American theatre.

A must have for acting students and theater enthusiasts.
Good selection Feb. 12 2013

The Bedford Intro to Drama has a nice selection of plays, is reasonably priced and isn't too flashy. While the used copy I received isn't in perfect shape, it hasn't been worn too much. My only complaints are that the print is small and the book wasn't available as in digital format. I find digital easier to read because I can change the font size and the book weighs less.
Great Book! March 4 2013

Although somewhat impractical, at times. This book is great because you can get a bunch of classic plays for a lot cheaper than the cost of buying them all separately. Also, there is an introduction on the play, playwright, time period, etc. before every play.
Wonderful stories and plays are included in this clunky textbook May 20 2010

Negative: The largest textbook I've ever seen and hard to carry around or keep it propped open.

Positives: Has some of the greatest stories and plays of all time within it.
