5.0 out of 5 stars It's the Return of the Badguy, Nov 25 2009

This review is from: Before I Self-Destruct (Audio CD)
50 Cent was able to do with BISD what few artists in any genre have had the fortune and ability to do in their career, and that's surpass their debut album. Returning to the hardcore rap that caught everyone's attention back in 2003, 50 sounding hungrier on the mic than ever before, is out to prove that he never forgot how make that music that bangs. The fans demanded the type of content he first came out with on his initial release, and he delivered. The ferocity first hits the listener with the opening titled 'The Invitation', where lines like "I'm far from eccentric I'm so psychotic, I don't need for you to shoot for me n**** I got it", hit hard and fast. For anyone whose read 50 Cent's autobiography, you'll get to hear a lyrical retelling of his life in 'Then Days Went By'. Songs like 'So Disrespectful' remind us what it was like when 2Pac was hitting up his enemies; "Jay's a big man he's too big to respond, I'm a big d*** the one everyone's on". 50 Cent's been short changed when it comes to his creative ability to put a song together, but joints like 'Psycho' with Eminem and 'Gangsta's Delight' (an ode to Sugerhill's Rapper's Delight) showcases the new and inventive ways he can approach the mic. But it's the menacing instrumentals on songs like 'Crime Wave' and 'Death to My Enemies' that places 50 on a plateau of fearlessness. BISD is epic in the sense that 50 Cent did what very few artists could ever do, and that's produce an album that goes beyond their first solo, his being 'Get Rich or Die Trying'. 'Before I Self Destruct' is undeniably a hip hop classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strictly Gangsta Rap!!! Proud of this Album!!, Dec 2 2009
By Regina Molina "Revolver" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Before I Self-Destruct (Audio CD)
i have waiting a long time for this album, but some cuts like baby by me, made me insecure that i was expecting of the album, but i would take it anyway, but we cannot judge a album for 1 song, then when crime wave came to the light i was Hell Yeah this hit hard, but in a few words to not making too long this is THE BEST ALBUM OF 2009 its extremely gangsta lyrics and production theres only like RnB 2-3 songs but these are not so bad, Before I Self Destruct is so different in the good way, comparing to these days corny hip hop and with an A-list of infinite guest rappers use in his albums (these albums better call for example "Jay-Z and Friends present The Blueprint 3"), 50 with Em in one Song in his Album its ENOUGH for it, and the production its extremely good even than the only A-List producer is Dre in 3 songs the and rest is at the same quality with not A-list producers, for last i have to say I am very proud of this album FINALY some Gangsta Rap to the media.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love This 50:), Dec 12 2009
By Charlene Hall "chall" - Published on Amazon.com
I think that this is a very good CD, everyone expect him to make another Get Rich or Die Tryin. That can't be done anymore, move on people stop comparing his work. 50 is one of the best Rap Artist alive right now. BFISD is hot, this CD proves that he still have what it takes to be number one. It is worth every dollar. Keep making your fans happy.
