Arthur Bloomfield was a pastor in the Methodist Church in the early days of his ministry and was the editor of Higley's Sunday School Commentary for several years. 5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Overall View of Bible Prophecy, Jun 6 2009
By Ringo - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Before the Last Battle-Armageddon (Paperback)
First, I need to point out that this paperback book has some typographical errors in several spots. Some are bad enough that certain sentences make no sense. I own an earlier printing of this book and there were no major errors. I recommend buying the earlier versions of this book without the typos.

The title of the book is unfortunately tabloid-ish, and I wish the publishers would return to the original title, which was "A Survey of Bible Prophecy."

In my opinion, Bloomfield sees more ups and downs and left and rights, or maybe I should say, a more complex and complete understanding of the prophetic scriptures than all books written by other teachers that I have personally read. I don't believe anyone has a perfect understanding of Bible prophecy. But I think Bloomfield comes the closest to dissecting the Bible accurately.

I had to read the book several times before I accurately understood all his interpretations. Not because He wasn't clear in his writing, but because he was drastically different in some areas of prophecy that I had to "unlearn" some of my usual ways of thinking and interpreting. I recommend reading it multiple times to get the most out of it.

I highly recommend this book and all his other books as well. This book narrows down the more important prophecies, but leaves out many arguments he proposes in his other books on prophecy. Don't forget to read the Appendix at the end of the book because it is full of great information and insight into many prophetic subjects.

All serious students of prophecy need to have this book.
