I got the book a few days and can't put it down! This book is loaded with real world key information for every photographer and photography studio. Either established or just starting out, I think you'll find answers in this book that'll guide you through the problems we all run into when running a business.

I can't wait to read and learn more. I recently traveled to a destination shoot, taking this book with me. I feel it's going to be doing a lot of traveling, as it will be a reference book for future issues I need inspiration to solve.

I got our pre-ordered copy of the book two days ago and I wanted to just preface the content inside quick..."HOLY COW MAN!"

Before I knew it, I read half the book already! This is great stuff, by far the best elaboration on photography "business" terms I can understand! We all want to be abreast of the latest trends, if not setting that pace ourselves. But, I also want to be more proficient, more profitable, and work smarter...not harder! Out-Sourcing your post-production, who would've thought? I would have missed that one...brilliant! You sharing your business fundamentals and essential business practice knowledge was instrumental for me, and you explained it simplistically well!

Thank you Sal for sharing your experience/expertise! Good stuff...REALLY! I'll look forward to another book soon, or maybe a Kindle or eBook Version =)

If you are a wedding photographer and you do wedding shows you have to read the chapter about getting the most out of a wedding show. Awesome info. Whether you are a seasoned pro or just starting a new business this book offers valuable information that will make a better business person.

After attending one of Sal's live events in Memphis this year, I was excited to hear that he had written a book! Several photographer friends and I attended his seminar together, and were blown away with his sales and marketing information. I think that he did a great job of including his personality and wisdom in his book. Behind the Shutter is full of helpful information for any photographer getting into the business, and there are some great nuggets for even the seasoned pro, but- I was expecting and hoping for a little more detail on the finer points of packaging and marketing. He does a great job of sharing his philosophy and workflow. And, he does a good job of inspiring photographers to dream bigger. While attending his seminar, it was obvious that Sal is a super-star salesman- one of the best I've ever seen! I would love to see a sequel edition that focuses on the finer points of his sales and marketing system. Sal is a great teacher and motivator. It's obvious that he's also a Rock Star in this industry. He's a guy who believes in both giving back and paying it forward. Thanks for sharing, Sal!

Reading Sal's book is like having a conversation with an amazingly perceptive coach - you walk away inspired and with the certainty that "I can do this!" It all seems so "doable" - our business plan came into focus and for the first time in years we feel that we have a road map to achieve the goals we've long been seeking. As Sal clearly states several times in the book, you've got to do it your own way and you've got to bring your "X" factor to the table. In this book Sal gives you the tools, and it's then up to you to make it happen.
