Product Description

Many of us think of love as a strong emotion, a feeling we have for another person. Marshall Rosenberg's helps us take a wholly different and life-enriching approach to love. Love is something you "do," something you give freely from the heart. Using the Nonviolent Communication (NVC) process, learn how to express yourself nakedly and honestly to your partner, friends, or family, for no other purpose than to reveal what's present or alive in you. Discover what thousands of people around the world already know: A heart to heart connection strengthened by joyfully giving and receiving is the love you long to experience.

Discover how to:
- Free yourself from the burden of proving your love and requiring proof in return
- Avoid doing anything out of guilt, resentment, shame or obligation
- Learn to effectively express how you are and what you need

2.0 out of 5 stars I wish it was better, Jan 4 2007
By A. Norgaard - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Being Me, Loving You: A Practical Guide to Extraordinary Relationships (Paperback)
I wish I agreed that this book deserves four stars - because that would mean that I was able to read through the book and attain some good information from it, which I was not. I am an avid reader with a college education, so my trouble is not illiteracy. It is the format of the book - a rolling description of what happened on stage at one of his seminars. It is written like a play with stage direction. The dialogue might have made sense if the author had left out unimportant fill like "um...am I supposed to be using empathy now or how I usually speak?" I could barely follow it, and after a handful of attempts found myself frustrated because I believe there is some good material somewhere in there! I will still give his other books a try IF they are written in a different format, but this is the first time I've truly regretted spending money on a book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Less Stress, Jan 19 2007
By D. Buchanan "non fiction" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Being Me, Loving You: A Practical Guide to Extraordinary Relationships (Paperback)
I would recommend this book to anyone who is having a problem communicating. If you are a person who feels misunderstood or find that you say one thing and people hear another. If you want to make your relationships healthy and positive read this book for help. Since reading it my communication skills are so much better as I am able express myself in a positive clear manner.
