The first six albums of Katherine Jenkins career have already been extraordinary in every sense of the word. Under the stewardship of producer David Foster (credited with the careers of Josh Groban, Michael Buble and most recently Seal's comeback), Jenkins has made her most ambitious album to date. Katherine spent the spring of 2009 in LA at Foster's studio, recording Believe. Together, they have produced a record of epic proportions that is set to take Katherine to new heights of success around the world. With a broad mix of contemporary and traditional repertoire the record not only delivers for existing fans but will also broaden her audience across the globe. From the haunting Sarah McLachlan song, 'Angel', through to a stunning working of Evanescence's 'Bring Me To Life', the mezzo soprano's unique vocal interpretations bind seamlessly with Foster's arrangement and production. Katherine Jenkins: Believe (Platinum Edition)...more materials but at a higher price!

Katherine Jenkins (born 29 June 1980) is a Welsh mezzo-soprano. She is a classical-popular crossover singer, who performs across a spectrum of operatic arias, popular songs, musical theatre and hymns. So far, she has released 8 albums, starting with Premiere in 2004 to the most recent Daydream in 2011.
Believe (2009) is her first release since she changed labels, from Decca to Warner. There are 12 songs, all very well recorded and remastered, bringing out to focus Katherine's pure and angelic voice. All the songs were well chosen. A cover of Evanescence's Bring Me To Life actually charted in the UK Top 75 Singles Chart. This album featured Andrea Bocelli (I Believe) and other musicians like André Rieu (Ancora Non Sai), Cody Carey (No Woman, No Cry) and Chris Botti (La Califfa). My own favourites are Sarah McLachlan's Angel and Parla Piu Piano - Love Theme From The Godfather.
All the above songs were performed live in her recent blu ray release: Live at the O2 Arena: Believe tour. She was simply amazing and an all-round performer. She could sing, dance and act. Plus, she was gorgeous looking too. It was this concert that brought me to focus this singer from Wales. My review of that concert is found elsewhere.
Like other extremely popular discs, like from Lady Gaga and Rihanna, this Platinum Edition has 7 more songs than the original version (Tell Me I'm Not Dreaming, Love Never Dies, In the Bleak Midwinter, Endless Love (with Amaury Vassili) from her concert, Adagio, O Holy Night (with Michael Bolton) and A Year Of Believe). The second disc is a DVD with interviews.
Although the price is much higher, you can always buy this more complete version from sellers at a much cheaper price. I have lots of experience with various sellers and I am always satisfied with the cheaper price and no tax (you have to pay for shipping $3.49), and good service. Try it once, and you will never turn back.
FINAL THOUGHT:
Her talent and beauty really reminded me of a young Sarah Brightman. She has a bright future ahead of her...and I firmly BELIEVE it! This Platinum Edition is highly recommended.

I notice that Katherine Jenkins is one of the contestants on Dancing With The Stars 2012. I "BELIEVE" that she will go all the way to grab the mirror-ball trophy. Go, Katherine, Go!

I bought this cd because I liked Miss Jenkins voice on her duet I believe, with Andrea Bocelli. The cd description says 2 disc set... but unfortunately, the second disc is a DVD with interviews and a few concert clips, not more of Miss Jenkins music.
I would recommend this selection to anyone who wants a "greatest hits" type cd. There is a 1 cd disc that is cheaper and has most of the same songs.
In true Amazon fashion the shipping was done promptly and arrived within days, via Canada Post.

KJ has a very interesting voice. She is a mezzo with a very clear upper reach and her Italian is superb. Very pleasent to listen to while driving or when I work on the cars. The arrangements are first rate, which is not the case with some of Sarah Brightman's CD's where the arrangements conmpete with her unique voice. I heard of KJ from reading the UK Daily Mail. A story about her drew rather vicious comments, and I was intrigued to find out who she was. Found her on Amazon, listened to the snippets of her CD tracks and bought one, then another. I haven't any idea who she is, but her music is wonderful. I also enjoy Jane Olivor but KJ is a mezzo sop with a powerful, trained voice who can also sing arrangements of pop, even Dolly Parton. Rene Fleming is the champ, but I recommend KJ for voice and arrangement.
#####about a year later. This is super on headphones, the real test of music. Been on the computer a lot of late and this remains one of my favorites. I got a special sound card for this one to spread the sound around on the headphones. She is a wonderful artist. As indicated above, the arrangements are very, very complimentary to her voice, and I appreciate that even more as the months have gone by.

Katherine Jenkins is such a great talent and after hearing her sing GMA I just had to have this CD. The DVD that comes with this package contains a 60 minutes of interviews with Katherine. This is the first opera CD that I have ever purchased. I'm just so hooked on her singing voice.
