This review is from: Belkin F5L090tt Folio Case with Bluetooth Keyboard for Apple iPad 2 (Personal Computers)
I ended up returning this and buying Belkins verve case and a logitech keyboard for the ipad. I found that the keyboard was great, but that did not make up for the case. The case did not look good at all; and it was akward to keep flipping the keyboard to the back and to the front although this guarantees the protection of the touch screen. The keyboard is not removable too which makes using the tablet without the keyboard pretty unbearable when you are holding it. Also the cutouts are not very good and I found they did not expose the volume rocker well or the sleep button.I honestly think if Belkin had somehow put a keyboard on their verve case instead of the slim one, I would have kept it. Also although the idea of the keyboard flipping to the back or front is helpful, it is not practical at all. I personally found I am much happier using their verve case with an external keyboard. That way when I am writing notes I can put the textbook in between the ipad and the keyboard for easier note taking.

I wish that they split the review in two parts one for the product and one for the seller...Because I would give the seller 5 STARS for his excelent and very fast service! I have received my package in 3 days or less and it was packaged professionally...The reason why I gave 3 STARS is because the product itself it heavy it weights more than my iPad!

If you are really interested in attaching a keyboard to your iPad, this product will get the job done. There are some definite compromises though, check out my video review to see more.

I purchased this case/keyboard combo as an early Christmas gift for myself and I have no regrets. It was between this case and the Logitech Zagg aluminum case. Ultimately I chose this case because in looking at the Zagg case it appears that there is quite a lip surrounding the keyboard. I could see that getting in the way of typing. Also, the reviews for the Zagg case indicated that the aluminum dented easily. The fold-away keyboard is a nice size and the key spacing is perfect. Couple that with the convenience of folding the keyboard away when you don't need it and this is the perfect case/keyboard combo. 31 of 33 people found the following review helpful

4 stars for the keypad; 1 for the folio,

Pre-release customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program
The keyboard is one of the best I've tried for my iPad. Of them all, the Belkin feels most like a true keyboard, rather than one of those mushy rubber things. Unfortunately, the folio lets the whole product down.* It is too difficult to remove the iPad from the case (but that is true of MANY iPad cases). * It does not allow one to type with the iPad in portrait, rather than landscape, mode, which would be the most natural way of using an iPad to work on most documents. * It is difficult to get used to opening it for typing purposes and then folding it back up again. * When it is folded up, it is uncomfortable to hold. * Most significantly, to get a reasonable viewing angle on a desk or table, the iPad needs to be tilted fauirly far back, which requires there to be a good deal of available space on the desk or table behind the iPad, which runs counter to the otherwise space-saving qualities of the iPad. In sum, perhaps the most potentially useful feedback I can offer is that I am glad I got my folio free through the Vine program; if I had paid $100 for it, I would have returned it. |
