I am over the moon about this wonderful disk! The selections are real gems that have been exquisitely performed. I've always loved the sound of the oboe and on this disk it is warm and sonorous, obviously due to the incredible talent of Christoph Hartmann, but also thanks to the excellent quality of this recording. The soloist and accompanying ensemble are perfectly balanced.

I would without hesitation recommend this disk to anyone who loves the oboe, but also Baroque and classical music in general. 5 stars without a doubt!

Bella Napoli - Concerti per Oboe is a 2008 EMI recording starring Oboe player Cristoph Hartmann. We also have the pleasure to listen to the Ensemble Berlin. Oliver Buslau has written the music notes. Also included is a short biography of Mr Hartmann. Here we get to hear composers such as Scaralatti, Hasse and Bellini to mention a few. Absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended indeed. 5/5.
