4.0 out of 5 stars Used Outdoors and Indoors June 12 2012

I picked this projector because I was looking for something that I could use to project movies outside. Having used it for that purpose a couple times, I can honestly say that it met my needs. It is very bright and has a decent picture. When not used outdoors, I have found a spot in my home office to project onto my wall from my computer/PS3. My only complaint is that it says it will play movies from a memory stick, however, I have yet to find an HD file type that will work on it. However, I am impressed that I can still see videos well even when there is a little bit of ambient light (both indoor and outdoor). Hooking up to a computer/netbook/PS3 was easy and I definitely do not regret this purchase.

2.0 out of 5 stars WAS great for a month May 22 2012

Ive owned this projector for a 2 months and now the bulb over heats and it shuts the bulb off and goes to emergency cooling mode. I called amazon and they said I need to call Benq. I will update with their response. The colors and options are great but surely I must have a defective bulb or unit. I used it to watch 2 movies and to project art on a wall. I might have used it for 7 hours max before I ran into issues
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good Projector Nov. 4 2013

I have used this projector on occasion. I have it mounted to a ceiling and was fairly east to mount. There are a lot of good features. At the time I have never heard of BenQ as a projector maker but the price was good and the specs were good. I have been happy with it to this point. It has a good resolution and the menu is very user friendly. I would recommend this projector.

Obviously they're not gonna be the best on earth, but they work very well. I now have an 80" computer screen which allows me to watch anything - yes guys, ANYTHING ;-) - in a relaxing recliner for hours. I'll take this over a basic computer monitor anyday.
5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding experience and good value March 6 2012

Just bought it yesterday but I'm really impressed . I plugged it into a Roku watching movies on Netflix streaming. The device is quiet, screen is bright, even in a moderately lit room, and color adjustment feature seems to work pretty well (my walls aren't white). The built in speaker is only so-so, but that's a pretty minor gripe. I think it's maybe a 5 foot screen. This seems like a great deal to get an inexpensive (and portable) home video center.
5.0 out of 5 stars K, let me explain something to you Feb. 12 2012

When we hooked this up in Blueray with our Playstation 3, it looked EXACTLY like movie theater quality on a 10 foot wide screen if not better. All I had to do is plug it in and select the input source - HDMI. In my opinion, it pretty much HANDLED BlueRay and gave it due justice!

It ran for 4 hours straight for the action movies Shinobi and No Country For Old Men; I could not hear any fan noise when we had our volume up at conversational decibels. At a contrast ratio of 5000:1, you are getting great value for your money. Can't wait to try out the 3D. This is the way the Taiwanese(makers of BenQ) generally do business.. lots of value for a low price. I got mine refurbished on ebay for dirt cheap so be sure to compare before buying. Be sure to check out the FAVI projector screens on amazon. Insane value for the prices they are giving.

I was cautious before buying because so few reviews. Had to go to a Canadian Amazon site. But I'm among the first to take the dive for you! I'd say you won't be disappointed.

Note: I had mine for only 1 day. I only used it for movies and showing pictures which was great, but have not used it for other purposes yet. It is supposed to be designed for multi-purposes. I am Taiwanese and very proud that our country produced such an amazing product.
