After returning another monitor at a retail store, I decided to go online and after reviewing response times i went with the Benq monitor, g2g is 2ms, and g2b is 5ms, running tests i had no ghosting or screen bleed, where crysis 2 which has heavy black to white environments has perfect picture.
The monitor supports dual link dvi (a requirement to run 120htz!) this is important for gamers as you wont have transition problems and have a fluid motion of movement, HDMI only supports 60mtz so so you will have signal delay. do not be confused thinking HDMI is the highest cable, as dual link digital cable supports higher memory standards.
out of the box i was happy with the packing job, all the parts are covered from scratches, it comes with its own remote for fast changing, it also supports manual up-scaling for lower resolutions or 4.3 environments, and you can save the setting so you can change in and out to diff standards. Out of the box its preset to gamer mode, and really you shouldn't change this unless you are into photo editing and need to change the tones. I did find i hate to turn down the saturation by 10 percent and brightness, as the blues uncorrected were a bit to bright.
As of writing this the new Benq gaming line is out, but its performance has been negative so decided to get a older model ( its not old just the first review of it is 2011, the manufacturer date of my monitor was end of FEB 2012, so in terms of storage not long at all.
Gaming wise, NO GHOSTING at 120htz running 16.9 1910x 1090 standard for 24 inch.
the monitors greatest feature is, moves up and down left and right! and comes with usb and every input you can imagine, no speakers but its a gamer line not a multimedia hack.
3d ready, you can pick up Benq 3d glasses for about 100 savings, if you dont buy the 500+ version of the same model.
gaming it preforms great, works out of the box, as I said tune colours a bit as its factory defaults are a little high.
in the end solid monitor, after a week going threw reviews and seeing this for myself, the price with worth it, because you get what you pay for and this is worth your money, nothing about this monitor feels general consumer but made for gamers in mind.
I hope you read this and find it helpful, my main fear is you get the newer model thats poorer performance wise instead of a solid technology,
