Berlitz Italian Cassette Tapes Sept. 22 2005
By M. Schleimer - Published on Amazon.com
These tapes are very basic for the beginning study of the Italian language. They are mostly oriented toward travel to the country. Good for listening to in the car over and over to get a better grasp of the language. A small book comes with the set but it is not necessary to learn the language but useful to see the words written, if you need to learn that way.
Best audio tracks I've heard for language learning. April 4 2013

The book is well organized and full of basic and useful phrases.

The audio tracks have both male and female speakers and a good mixture of simple words and longer dialogue sequences. The speakers say everything twice, both slowly and at normal speed. Every word or sentence is said in both English and Italian. If I had one small complaint is that the audio portion is not as long as I had hoped, approx 30-40 minutes running time rather than a full hour.
