Underated , influential group. This volume in an excelent account of their musical careers and unlike other collections includes the song '' Stroll on" from their appearance in the classic film 'Blow Up"

Were they reviewing the same CD??? Sept. 2 2010
By friendofabear - Published on

Before buying this CD I read the reviews carefully and listened to samples at Amazon. To my ear, all samples sounded like the originals. I was particularly puzzled by the reviewers who said "not original versions" and "LIVE". After receiving the CD I played it all the way through and these are original versions and, except where the recording was made during a concert, all are studio versions. I have to think somehow these reviews got listed under the wrong CD. These REALLY ARE THE REAL THING! Happy listening!

downloaded 2 songs I'm a man & over under sideways down from this. at the end of both songs is crowd reactions. is this a "live" cd? I thought it was remastered from old recordings. this is much newer recording, over under has fuzztone guitar this version did not. ok if you like the songs don't buy if you want original recordings!

Beware! Jan. 26 2011

Beware of what? Well, others have misdiagnosed this CD - I'll tell you what's wrong with it. It doesn't contain re-recordings but rather remixes!

There was a budget price label, whose name escapes me,. that went round remixing - or should I say - despoiling all its classic '60s/'70s material, by adding extra instrumentation that not only tended to clash with the sound of the original but never seemed to be absolutely in sync!

And that's what you have here. It could be worse - at least Keith and the guitarists come through loud and clear, but...why on earth would a person settle for this when the originals are very/fairly easy to locate?

Finally, Two Yardbirds in the hand - not just in the bush. Aug. 30 2011

A solid bi-label effort. It sure took long enough. But hey who cares about what fans want? There's money and someones' ego at stake! Seriously, I'm delighted that the two record labels could unify and give us such a thorough and generous compilation.Well done.

BEWARE!!-Not Original 60s Recordings June 6 2008
By Pascal A. Garneau - Published on
Definitely listen before you buy. These are not the original sixties recordings of these songs. Sounds more like a 2003 bar band doing covers of The Yardbirds.

This is pretty deceptive marketing, in my opinion.
