But my four and two year olds do not. Which is a bummer, since we're all using Flip Flop French to learn new vocabulary and phrases, I was hoping this CD would add to it, but there's such bickering over it, I just turn it off. I guess the songs and talking is a bit old for the younger ones. They like other French CD's but not this one too much. Hop Skip and Sing doesn't cause arguments. And the Flip Flop French book is fun for all three to color and repeat as we work together.... I co-authored it, but I'm only fluent in Spanish and English, so I need lots of help with the French pronunciation part of all this!

My daughter is 5. She is taking French at school so she is already learning french there. This is a great CD to play for her in the car and in the evenings before bed.

Beth Manners' Magic French for Kids reinforces the vocabulary my daughter is already learning and introduces new words. The storyline, songs and general premise of the CD keeps her interest.

However, I do not believe that this CD would be sufficient if you were interested in your child learning French as a second language. The strength of this CD is as a supplement or introduction to the French Language.

I am a mother of a 6 year old and a French teacher for grades Kinder through 2nd so I expected to get a lot of use out of this tape. However, the format is not one that makes it enjoyable for children to hear repeatedly. My daughter is much happier listening to songs rather than hear a far fetched story poorly acted. I would recommend the "Bonjour mes Amis" Videos instead as the vocabulary is more useful and the story includes real life events. Stick to song tapes in the car.
