Great buy Dec 24 2009

I bought this book and was very happy with it. It has loads of recipes on desserts. But what I like the most is that this book has an illustration to each recipe, so i know how the end product should look like.

What a great book!! I'm no cook...that's for sure, but this book is helping me learn how to correct some of the problems I've experienced in the past. It has lots of great suggestions and solutions for common baking problems, tons a great recipes and beautiful pictures. I bought it used, and it didn't cost me much at all.

it's a good bread and dessert book May 13 2010
By Amazon Shopper - Published on
Format: Spiral-bound
I love the layout of the book - it's the same as the cooking basics book. The recipes are easy to follow and a picture helps reassure that you got it right. Good baking does come with precision and practice, so don't be too disappointed if it takes you a couple tries to get it right.

The only downside is it is a recipe book completely for desserts and bread. I was hoping for a few recipes for baked dishes that could I make and serve as a main dish. I'll still keep the book as it's a good reference for baked desserts and treats. But if you were going to only buy one cook book, I'd recommend the cooking basics book over this one.

Learn to Bake! Dec 18 2012

I bought two copies of this cookbook; one for my home and one for a single dad needing to make Christmas cookies for his kids. I am an experienced cook and baker, but still found this book to have information I didn't know! It's great for those who are beginning, and even for those of us who think we know it all!
