I bought this book and was very happy with it. It has loads of recipes on desserts. But what I like the most is that this book has an illustration to each recipe, so i know how the end product should look like.

4.0 out of 5 stars it's a good bread and dessert book May 13 2010

I love the layout of the book - it's the same as the cooking basics book. The recipes are easy to follow and a picture helps reassure that you got it right. Good baking does come with precision and practice, so don't be too disappointed if it takes you a couple tries to get it right.

The only downside is it is a recipe book completely for desserts and bread. I was hoping for a few recipes for baked dishes that could I make and serve as a main dish. I'll still keep the book as it's a good reference for baked desserts and treats. But if you were going to only buy one cook book, I'd recommend the cooking basics book over this one.
