Disappointed!,
This review is from: Betty Crocker's Slow Cooker Cookbook (Spiral-bound)
When I bought this book I expected more. All the recipes just take ingredients from a can, frozen package or a ready-made mix and throw it all together in the slow cooker. I am a from-scratch cook and that's what I was looking for - good recipes that use fresh ingredients AND the slow cooker. If that's what you're looking for, don't buy this book. If, on the other hand, you are fine with all canned good being thrown together to make a one-dish meal, and simplicity is your main goal (and you WILL sacrifice taste!) then this book is ok for you.

Very similar to Pillsbury's!,

Although this is a fine cookbook, my wife and I were startled to find that many of the recipes contained here are identical or very similar to ones contained in "Pillsbury Doughboy Slow Cooker Recipes" book. Even some of the pictures are identical. Our advice: buy one or the other, but not both!

The recipes are mediocre. It's too old-fashioned for me. I don't like the "throw a can of condensed soup in" kind of cooking. I really prefer either "Good Housekeeping"s slow cooker cookbook or "Slow Cookers for Dummies"
