Hands down, Capitol Steps are the funniest comedy group ever,
By cindy talbot (Lake Oswego, oregon United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Between Iraq and a Hard Place (Audio CD)
I have three albums by the Capitol Steps, and they are all fantastic. This one in particular was great because it was the most current of the three (though it is still a year outdated). From Trent Lott singing "It's Not Easy Being White," (It's Not Easy Being Green), to the Bush family singing "Talk 'Bout Saddam," (Talk Like a Man), to Winona Ryder signing "Kleptomaniac," (Maniac) this kept me laughing from start to finish. The song-parodiers are very witty, and the fact that the new lyrics fit perfectly makes it even funnier. And the caricatures of all the people are fantastic. If you're a fan of political satire, or song parodies of any kind, buy this today!

I laughed so hard, I almost got into a car accident!,

Warning: If you aren't prepared to laugh at yourself, don't buy this CD. The Capitol Steps pull no punches, and no target is sacred. Everybody will get burned. That said, these guys are hilarious. I nearly ran off the road the first time I listened to "God Bless my SUV". Get this album. You won't be sorry. Just don't listen to it for the first time in your car.

Political Humor at its best!,
By L. A. Welch - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Between Iraq and a Hard Place (Audio CD)
This CD is only for those who can maintain a sense of humor regarding the state of American Politics. For those of us who delight in laughing at our Great Nations' leaders, this CD is mind-numbingly brilliant. They are reasonably bi-partisan in their mockery of all things political, but it does help to be liberal in your thinking to derive the most enjoyment from all of Capital Steps' work. There are sexual innuendos in some of the tracks, as is quite common for Capital Steps, but there is nothing explicit and these innuendos will go over the heads of most children. The song parodies will leave you laughing so hard your sides will hurt. Enjoy!

This C/D contains some of the funniest political commentary I have ever heard. Not only is the satire right on, but the songs are great. Half the fun is suddenly recognizing a song from my teens (current events are lampooned to the tune of popular songs). My kids keep asking me what's so funny, so they now know more American political dirt than most adults. Anyone who has the least bit of interest in current events should get this C/D. And don't worry- all political parties take a beating. On this one it may seem a little heavy on Bush; go back a few years and they were wiping the floor with Clinton. However, it's so well done, you won't care when they destroy your favorite public figure. Watch out, though, buy one and you'll want all the rest.
