A worthy sequel Aug. 16 2010
By Eric Aderhold - Published on
Like all sequels, "Beyond the Blue Event Horizon" suffers a bit from the constraints on setting, characters, etc. that are imposed by the original novel. That said, it is still an engaging story. We see the humans gaining a bit more mastery over Heechee technology, finding more artifacts that could help solve the problems that humanity is facing, and answering a few more of the questions that were outstanding at the end of "Gateway." Definitely recommended for anyone who enjoyed the first book. It's not as original as the original, but still a fun, suspenseful read.
